Default Campaign H239 - PASS BY NOISE IN LATCHED SPECIAL PROGRAMS MODES

Topix indicates an outstanding campaign for my 2016 V6S ragtop: "H239 - PASS BY NOISE IN LATCHED SPECIAL PROGRAMS MODES"
I fear that the exhaust noise will be muted if I service my F-type at a JLR workshop. Does anyone have a clue about the nature of this campaign?

If you take it to the dealer, they will apply all updates and it will make your car much quieter.

In my experience, H239 didn't make my MY18 car "much quieter" at all - it's just a bit muted at startup (though still loud!) and the pops and crackles are unaffected.

It's a campaign and not a recall so you should be able to decline the update, but you'd need to specify that up front.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not inclined to take any risk to lose any of the sounds, and not being able to make sure that the dealer won't apply the update makes me considered either servicing the car somewhere else or get an ODB lock. Is there a second ODB port in the engine bay, i.e. are two locks needed to bar the JLR dealer from applying updates? Does anyone have an idea if the dealer will register the service as being carried out if they haven't been able to plug in the diagnostic tool as required in the service schedule?

When I schedule the service and again at drop off I make sure I tell them to NOT to do any software updates. I ask them to confirm that any software updates they might apply have no code that changes the exhaust system or the programmed backfires. So far after 5 years my dealer has honoured my request, especially after I showed them the series of discussions on this forum from 3 years ago.
