My F type (2014) has had an off and on issue for the past year.
I occasionally will get a "roof latched" message then followed by several if not all warnings while in drive moving (ABS, TSC, DSC Special modes unavailable, E-brake, etc), and I'm always unable to go into any gear I even have a hard time getting the e brake to activate, even more occasionally sometimes it will go into restricted performance mode and struggle to move, and show a charging system failure. This is not everyday, and oddly only happens in the heat in summer, it doesn't happen once in winter.
I do have a call out to my shop, but my concern is where to start looking. I originally thought I may also have the oil leaking onto the alternator, but due to some tree damage near the trunk I believe the location of the dent was pulling extra liquid into the trunk as when I removed the trunk lid where the battery is, I found a decent amount of water floating around the components in the trunk. I was able to drain it out completely and it's been mostly dry ever since (I cleaned the drainage areas which seem to have built up some guck after a really bad set of storms in a pollen ridden season).
What puzzles me is the seasonal factor here, and why it will never happen in the cold and that I can go a few weeks even in the heat with no problem? Water floating around the trunk seems to be the obvious answer, if not also an alternator leak. I'm curious as to your opinions, and if maybe I'm looking at a nightmare here? The good news is I have a superb aftermarket warranty and insurance at least.
I have had the same problems (plus a couple) for the last year also!
2014 convertible V8 S 32k miles.
mine began (embarrassing enough… no judgement please) after plugging a small heat gun into a aftermarket ac/dc power inverter that was plugged into accessory outlet.
at the time, I didn’t have a private garage for 2 months… all other times she has been garaged.
immediately after this plug in…. I saw “charging systems fault”. After that, 2 weeks went by intermittently seeing “adaptive dynamics fault” parking break fault”, “special mode unavailable” , before alternator went out. Bought used from eBay for $78. Got used gateway module also, new battery from advance auto…
left it at jaguar for a month with both used alternator and used gateway module in the trunk. Jaguar addressed neither of those requests and put in new fuel pump only. $4300 later I was able to drive away but with same warnings… only difference was that it started…. 15 miles later the battery died again and stranded. So then I took to pep boys and the alternator put in and voila no more charging issue (no consistent charging issue , only intermittent. I noticed after seeing this intermittently… the ground cable had corrosion, so I bought a used off eBay and that fixed that.
-pending at this point. There is just the gateway module to be reflagged, however every time I try to reflash it, with mongoose… something happened and did not.
after driving around procrastinating with bumpy suspension and no dynamic mode…. No stability control…. I had to replace control arms , ball joints due to no air suspension…. And the night it decided to go caput…. The top was stuck and wouldn’t move.
so now I believe the fuel pump is out. AGAINNNNN
(Or just a relay) so I ordered all new relays from Amazon. (To be done)
I had noticed that the charging of the auxillary battery (also replaced by advance auto” in the dual battery box) it was always charging too high and would fluctuate too high with engine rpm).
-voltage regulator is issue!
so now. after I abruptly had no more instrument cluster lights…. No start f(just starter constantly trying to turn it over) …. No response from obd reader…. Parking break wouldn’t release…
it sat halfway under the roof during a big storm one day and I opened up the trunk to what you posted…. 3 inches of water in trunk!
the battery (main only ) was unhooked and my friend shut the trunk and the manual latch shut with no way to open( that is nightmare fkr the second time)
I took out all modules from trunk, new mega fuse box, fuses, cables, etc. Almost all those arrived.. next I will finally reflash the gateway and hopefullly all my current problems go away with no more.
the leak…. Idk where it is though. Current parts list to be installed /replaced Inside dual battery box…. Fawkkkkk!!!! Removing modules to replace. And to clean corrosion from trunk contacts to battery (heavy corrosion notes possible over charging) (Inside dual battery box, cont)

Reason: Forgot details
FYI: There is a simple solution for opening the rear hatch when the battery is dead.
1. Use the emergency key in the keyfob to open the door.
2. Unlatch & open the bonnet.
3. Hook a battery charger to the auxillary power connections on the from right corner of the car under the bonnet.
4. There will be enough power to open the hatch.
