Howdy folks,

Just thought I would introduce myself, picked her up this weekend. Last car that felt this good was my F430!! She's joining an M3, S4 and a Range R S/C

Looking forward to contributing.

Welcome Mark. The all black look is both beautiful and wicked. I'm also glad to see someone else here who appreciates the considerable merits of the convertible. This forum has been too Coupe-heavy lately.

Thanks for the welcome Foosh. I drove all cars back to back and loved the 6S with no roof the most. The coupe has admittedly better lines but with the top down it was a no brainer...which part of MD are you from? I split my time between here and the DMV...I'm headed back to Bethesda for the holidays.

I've been in the Annapolis area for 15 years, but I work in downtown DC. I previously lived in Chevy Chase, so I'm also very familiar with Bethesda.

In addition to your connection with the DMV, you also have good taste in F-Types. After many years of high-powered V8s, I also fell most in love the the V6 convertible after driving all versions.

Every car needs a front plate in Ontario. Sigh.

That's just unfortunate. (Legally so does my state but I'm OK with taking my chances - and/or talking myself out of a ticket when possible - although others on this forum simply don't, or choose not to, have that option). Without getting overly philosophical, the world's so screwed up that I'm not going to sweat about having [or not having in my case] a front plate.

"Good afternoon officer, it's in the trunk. And if you had this car would you put a front plate on?".

A friend has a V8s and he has left his off. He's had 2 tickets so far a week apart in a year and a bit. He just pays the fine and leaves it the way it is. I didn't think of it and my front plate was on when I picked it up. I snoozed and lost I guess.

No looking back, except in the rear view mirror.

Unfortunately the M came with a front license holder when I picked it up unlike the others.

I'm surprised how the coupe has kinda taken over. It looks great as most Jags always looked better as coupes, E Type on forward. But a roadster is still a real sports car experience. We don't need no stinkin luggage room!

It seems like the R Coupe is by far the most present trim on the forum lately.

The F-TYPE has so much to offer with the top down in terms of overall experience, it became an easy choice for me. A pure sensory overload is how I would describe it. I will probably be ordering a 550HP R AWD Convertible in about a year's time from now.

In general coupes have better lines than convertibles. I don't really know many cars where the convertible looks better. But some people just prefer the open top experience, which I can't blame them. Kind of like riding a motorcycle.

I've been surprised by the disproportionate number of Coupes in general on this forum. I've never been without a convertible since I had the means to purchase my own cars, and can't imagine living without one.

Active exhaust is pretty much unnecessary with the top down, and it's active exhaust on steroids.
