Welcome from another relatively new V6S Covertible owner. That's a very nice looking car. You will love it.

I wouldn't have mine with a roof no matter how good it looks, it just feels and sounds too good with the roof down.

I have a roadster and not the coupe. I was interested in reading the comments about coupes vs. hardtop convertibles vs. ragtops.

To each his own - but I specifically wanted the ragtop. I already have a Range Rover Sport Supercharged with a "hard top."

I think that there is a certain "je ne se qua" that applies to a ragtop. Makes me think of mountains, the 1960s, & Grace Kelly

Thanks for the link - I might get one of these just for the state inspection. Last year, I used zip ties to attach the plate to the front for the inspection, then cut them off.

You're welcome! I tried the 'ole velcro trick on a fix-it ticket on a previous car, and the inspecting Sheriff called me out on it. Now I keep an RHO handy just in case.

Hello gentlemen, haven't been writing much but I've been reading and keeping track of all things F TYPE through the forum.

So I've had my S for a while now and I'm ready for a change in configuration; I am thinking of either going coupe R (Rhodium or Stratus on Red) (dislike the fact that it's AWD now) or go for another RWD S-convertible.

Has anyone that has driven/owned the AWD V8 and RWD comment? I enjoy how playful the rear end is on my current car....I know that Jag insists its still a massive rwd bias but I'm skeptical...

Haven't driven the RWD R but my AWD R can very, very easily get the rear end wagging. The rear bias with the massive torque makes it effortless w/ the right vehicular inputs IMO

Decided to hold onto my car a little bit longer. I want to see this SVR when they land at the dealerships to see what they look like! If not the alternative will be a 15 R with the RWD.

That's the spirit.

I just came back from the Jaguar Driving Academy so finally got some good time in the AWD R. It is a wonderful car, quite composed. With the nannies on (only way they let us drive) it never slipped or even tried to swing the back out. Even in the hot lap with the professional race driver they only managed to get it sideways once and they were seriously pulling.

That said, I still prefer the RWD. With nannies on it will still slip out in a predictable way just a bit. With nannies off it is a drift machine. Is it faster? No, but at slow speeds I think it is more fun.

Curious how good the SVR is.
