Default Capristo Exhaust On An R.....

Hey, how's it going everyone! This is actually my first post on this forum, and just wanted to run a quick thought across you guys! I've been on the fence with this ever since I got my F-Type a month ago. I say on the fence because the stock exhaust on this car is already a work of art and I don't want to ruin the sound. However, making it louder seems like a thrill, so I've been considering the Capristo Exhaust for this car! Yes, I can already hear the sirens chasing me......lol.

There is one issue though.....on the website, it says they only suit the exhaust for the V8S. Would it still fit the R in this case? And what would be the better option, the full system or just the mufflers? If I could get some help with this, it would be greatly appreciated!

Btw, since I'm new to this forum, there's a new villain in town.....

Welcome. I love that color on the F-Type. Is that a re-spray or a wrap?

I can't help with the Capristo question, and I'm completely satisfied with the OEM exhaust. That's something I've never been able to say for any other car.

One contributor to this forum, I believe it was Vic55, who maintains quite a stable of sports cars, had the capristo exhaust on one of his other cars... might have been an Audi or his Ferarri, and I'm pretty sure he stated he liked the stock exhaust on the F-Type better. Better sound, though not quite as loud.

Vic has the capristo on his Ferrari 458. I don't think anyone active on this forum has installed the capristo on their F - just the video posted above.

Thank you, thank you! It's just 3M vinyl wrap. I thought about the re-spray but the wrap seemed like the easier way to go……….you know, since i'm going to need a new color once the officials get acquainted with this color. lol.

That's the thing, I already love the way it sounds, so i don't necessarily want to give that up!

See, that's what concerns me. I want the sound to stay signature, just pronounced. I might just get it. If i don't like it, now I know. haha

…………I think I might have just damaged my speakers. lol. I really wasn't expecting it to be THAT loud! You could wake up the dead with that exhaust. Wait…….is the video mislabeled? I thought the R's were only available as coupe's. Correct me if I am wrong.

Back in September when that was posted, it was definitely a V8S. The R convertible isn't available here until this month and I don't think the German's got it last year. I think they are implying it is a V8R because it has an upgraded tune to 560hp.

Yours looks almost like Ford's Grabber Blue they have on the Mustangs. it's a throwback color from the late 60's with no metallic.

Your car looks fantastic in that color! I'm tempted to join the meet on the 21st just to see it in person.

As for the exhaust, it sounds so phenomenal stock I'd be afraid to touch it.

It is a Jaguar color which they call French Racing Blue. This new 2014 XFR-S is currently available at Jaguar of Annapolis.

My suggestion if you wanted to enhance the factory sound would be an x- pipe with high flow cats or no cats. Leave the factory mufflers alone. Any decent performance exhaust facility could fabricate one up in a few days.

Edit: Anyone in south California I would recommend Fast Intentions, located in Simi Valley.

if you want pronounced get high flow CATs, that is the biggest baffle in your system. I had three different exhausts on my XKR-S nothing made a difference as the CATs. In addition you can keep your stock exhaust, keep the vavles for when you might not want it that loud AND definitely no drone which you most certainly will get with any other solution.

Does the F-Type have pre-resonators and no X-pipe? I though it would be built the same as the XKR-S as that one has no pre-resonators and an x-pipe instead.

And to me they almost sound identical
