Default Car started after three weeks

Just returned from Europe after three weeks and my new V6 started up first try. Was locked and armed the whole time. Incontrol on timer.

I was in the SJ Jag/LR dealer today and every car in their showroom that I sat in said "low battery, start car".

True, and you can go to any other dealership and routinely see the same thing on the showroom cars. With shoppers/lookers constantly getting in and out of them, playing with electric seats, etc., there's a lot more drain than on a locked car at home.

Both my F-Type and my wife's MB C-300 were "dead" on the showroom floor when we purchased them. It does seem to me than an informed dealer GM would have BTs on all showroom vehicles because that never looks good to informed customers. I made the same comment to both GMs.

FWIW, I'm certain that there was a 3-week period (thereabouts) last bitter cold winter - even though I drove my F-Type continuously throughout, when, without any Battery Tender (Plus)...still in the unopened box which I would be happy to sell here - she started right up without any problem whatsoever.

FWIW.

Is there a difference on the batty drain locked vs unlocked? I don't lock it when it's in the garage. Just wondering.

What's your home address and one of us here will check for you. You don't happen to have a dog do you?

Yes you do - and a beauty at that! - and it was great meeting a F-Type Forum member in person. A first...but surely not the [a] last.

Best regards,
Jay
