Default Car Would Not Unlock

I tried getting into my car today and the door would not unlock with the remote. I got no response pressing the lock, unlock and open hatch buttons. Thinking the battery in the remote was bad I grabbed the other remote. I got the same result.

I then tried the keyless entry which worked just fine. Once open I tried the remotes and they both now work fine.

The battery is OEM and 2.5 years old and the car is always on a CTEK. I last had it out yesterday for about an hour. It has not been in the shop recently and the warning triangle does not stay on.

Any ideas what might have happened?

first thing I would do Is see if you have a loose battery cable.

Both battery cables are tight and clean.

mmmm, battery could be going stale maybe, id just keep an eye on it. Some batteries are just duds from the factory. Ive had them last 6 years and some only 2.

AIUI, the fobs consume their batteries even if you don't use them, if one fob battery goes flat the other one isn't far behind it. I'd check the voltages of both fob batteries and replace if necessary.
