Default Carbon Ceramic Pads

Has anyone found a source with reasonable pricing on pads for carbon ceramic brakes?
I need to get a set and it’s 1600 at the dealer, which is a bit obnoxious.

Check out PAGID. I would call and have them match them up. Nothing special about or calipers. Standard Brembo stuff. I plan on getting them when needed. Please let us know the part #’s if you go that route. I think they are half the price of OEM and are a leader in high performance brake pads.

That Pagid catalogue is not the world's easiest thing to navigate but I *think* I found the F-Type CCM pads - shape 1287 on page 80 for the fronts and shape 1408 on page 82 for the rears.

Edit - if I have the correct ones it looks like you can get them from Northstar Motorsports in the good ol' US of A for a helluva lot less than the JLR price,
$389 for the fronts, see here: https://www.northstarmotorsports.com.../productID/182

Not sure about the rears as their page for the 1408 shape does not show RSC (carbon ceramics) as a pad compound option.

The first link (tirerack) is for the steel front 380 mm brake pads, not CCM.
The second link is for XKR-S GT front pads which may or may not fit the F-Type. I understand the brakes are the same but I'm not sure about the pads, the pads in that ad look to be a different shape than the Pagid shape 1287. Conversely they are part # T2R11420 which appears to be the correct part # for the F-Type CCM front brake pads, so if they are the correct pads and correct pad shape then it looks like Pagid shape 1287 are not right. The plot thickens!

Look closer at the tirerack link, they list both iron brake and CC pads....

Can't speak to the performance of the Centric pads but unless your tracking the car you can't argue with the price.

My bad, I didn't scroll down far enough!
If they are the genuine item then that's a damn good price.
Even better prices at CARiD, $132.04 for the fronts and $115.87 for the rears, see here (then select CCM brakes): https://www.carid.com/2016-jaguar-f-...-81847668.html
All that said I still have nagging doubts about Centric PosiQuiet semi-metallic being the correct compound for the CC rotors, I would be worried about them chewing up the (very expensive) rotors.

I’m not sure about the centric pads. The eBay ones look interesting and I’ll do more research on that. I’ve talked to race engineering which is Brembo USA and they said dealer only item.

Similar situation with Brembo when sourcing pads for Ferrari, they will not sell you pads directly, Ferrari has them locked down making you have to go through their dealer network for parts. From memory the pads for a 430 with CC brakes were on the order of $1400 per axle!! (and that was 10 years ago).

Emailed pagid, and to no surprise they do not offer anything for this application.

Any update on finding cheaper pads/rotors?
Currently looking at a used 2015 R with 31k miles and c/c brakes. Worth the hassle?

I thought that the expected life was ~ 90K miles on CC brakes?

True, but will it be worth spending $10k to replace them then? Or should I just get an R with regular brakes?

When would you anticipate needing to replace them? 3 years from now? 7 years from now?

And, I think it is possible to replace CC brakes with regular brakes & rotors. The group-buy Worteck rotors are ~$3000 with new pads...

Rock Auto in the USA lists Centric 10417630 front pads for CC brakes at $122, and the 10417640 rears at $103

Nice to know, as long as there are alternatives.
Thoughts on this used R then?

This has come up before somewhere around here but although those Centric pads appear to be the correct size and shape for the CC brakes they also appear to be fairly standard Centric semi-metallic compound, and I for one would be very worried about using that compound on the OEM CC brake rotors, who knows how it would perform or what damage it could do.
I wonder, has anyone here fitted those pads?

However, those might be the perfect pads to use if you replace the CC rotors with the Wortecs

Depends on how drive the car. they could last up to 100K with normal use. My pads lasted about 34K with a couple of track days and hard street use. Its ****ing expensive though...
