Default center vs side exhaust

putting actual functionality aside, anybody wished they made all F-Types have the center exhaust. I feel the center exhaust is more unique, pays better homage, more distinctive...

I'm obviously biased, but I certainly agree. It's a far cleaner and nicer look than the current 5.0 routing.

I'm in the US at the moment and for the first time have seen a few of the new Corvettes with the four pipes in the centre. It is very attention getting but I have to say it looks right on a corvette but I can't help feeling it would look a bit gauche on a Jag. I prefer the look more f my V6 with the two centre pipes over both the 2+2 of the V8 and the 4 in the centre of the Corvette.

I like 2 center or 3 center (Ferrari 458 style). But I'm with you, 4 center seems too much.

Love the larger, oversized twin exhaust on the 6's for all the reasons mentioned...

I never see the exhaust on my car because I'm always in the drivers seat! oh, the sound... it SOUNDS perfect, don't really care what it looks like... 1, 2, 4 outlets, makes no difference how many or where.

Aesthetically, I don't prefer one over the other. I'm glad they are different, so that you can tell which is which from a distance on the videos.

Again, not unbiased, but I much prefer the look of the rear with the four exhausts. I also much prefer the noise they make too

It's not a question of 4 vs. 2. It's where they are placed. It would sound the same if all 4 were in the center, which IMO would look much better.

I am glad the V8 has the 4 pipes on the side. Had the center exhaust on the Cayman and Boxster, as well as Cadillac has them as does the Corvette. Certainly nothing unique about. Very smart to a have different exhaust for 6 and 8 cylinder, it is basically the only distinguishing factor.

Well no, 4 vs. 2 would be the same distinguishing feature, but they would look better in the middle than the rather jumbled look of the 2 dangling on each side with the odd shape of the rear air diffuser. It's a design issue.

Some comparisons below. No rhyme or reason...

I personally think four in the center would look awful. It's not a good look on the Vette, and it would be terrible on our cars. The placement is best as it is for the V8 cars.

Jumbled? I personally find the design of the V8 (pipes and diffuser) to be perfect for the car. It's more aggressive, as befits the more powerful car.

Anything more than 2 pipes in any one location looks plain silly to me. The current F-Type configurations both look good. I would certainly defer to Ian Callum's design sense over anyone else's I know. The rectangular chrome collector for the 4 pipes works well for the Maserati, but I don't think it would do so with the F-Type.

Well, if I ever wanted to truly make love to my car, I guess I'd want the one big one in the center!

I have a different view, but that's cool.
