Check engine light
I have the 2014 F type with only 61,000 miles, heard there was a software issue for the check engine light so went to the Land Rover /Jaguar dealer in Charlotte, NC but was told that they do t work on 2014 models. Any advice how to get this fixed. ?
A car of that age and miles, that check engine light truly could be anything.
As for Jaguar not being willing to work on the car…I absolutely love these cars, but what a ridiculous approach to business this company and/or its dealers have. Why they would not want to take your money is beyond me…No wonder they have so many financial problems…lol
My car is essentially new with a full warranty and I would still feel more comfortable taking it to a well regarded local Jaguar independent specialist in my area. This based on word of mouth reputation in my locale. Have you tried to seek out an independent near you?

Your car has a problem and it needs scanned for codes.
Post back with the codes when you get them.
Forget the software issue and see what the car is telling you. Until you have codes it's all a shot in the dark.
What you found with your dealer is common and as posted above how can a company just abandon all their older products and customers? Well Jaguar has.

This is why this site in particular is so important for the DIY movement. Having forum members who actually work on their cars and have the knowledge, experience, and selflessness to help is fantastic.
@Marli G Please post your codes (from Autozone, etc) and we will help you sort it out since the dealer is of no use...

Figures, that’s related to oxygen sensors. If you have a V6, they should be covered on Jag’s 15 year warranty. The V8 only got 10 years. As you indicated, there was a TSB years ago to change the calibration via updated software so they wouldn’t trigger the CEL. Some people complained that the exhaust was muted afterwards, though mine was fine.
Here’s the extra warranty that Jag issued.

@Marli G If you have a V6 it's a free replacement AT THE DEALER.
If its a V8 you could still try at the dealer based on the in-service date of the car. You are still pretty close to the 10 year mark. They may cover it for you regardless. Takes one hour.
Go to a different dealer, but maybe call the one you went to first and explain the situation.

Put the trim in your signature or at least mention which motor you have in your post.
You should have a couple JLR dealerships in your area. I know Plaza in STL (which is an Asbury group dealership) is no longer a J dealership and isn’t required to work on J’s. That’s OK, they suck anyway. Our other dealership is Imperial which happily works on the older stuff and is more than happy to take my money.
You can also look for an LR independent. There are far more distressed LR’s than J’s in the world.

You can now see how valuable this forum is. Heck you "might" even get if fixed for free from Jaguar! Bet you never thought that would happen!
So do check into it and please post back your results for everyone's benefit.
The repair has to be done by the dealer or they won't pay. I replaced an O2 sensor because it's just so cheap and easy compared to all the mess dealing with the dealer. When I found out about the extended warranty I sent my receipt for the O2 sensor to Jaguar corporate but never heard anything back. So not covered if the repair was DIY either.
