Default "Connect your iPhone" Apple CarPlay Issue

Apple CarPlay is now not working via USB lead (it worked fine originally). When I plug in, it senses USB connection and prompts "switch to CarPlay" which I select. The CarPlay section of main screen then shows my iPhone description/name for about 3 seconds, then switches back to "Connect you iPhone". When I select the CarPlay app, it then reads "Connect your iPhone" and "Make sure the USB cable is connected properly". I have tried 3 USB cables, plugging/unplugging, hard reset on the iPhone, disabling bluetooth. The car had first service a couple of weeks ago and whilst main software was current, some "workshop modules" were installed and I'm not sure if they may have caused the issue. I wanted to check if any other owners have had a similar issue before I go back to Jaguar service dept. Any feedback/suggestions gratefullly received. Thanks

Which year and model do you have? That might affect the answer.

Use a plastic dental pick and compressed air to clean lint out of the connector recess on the iphone. I’ve had Lightning cables plug in and partially work (or not at all), and cleaning out the hole fixed it.
