Convertible roof motor
Morning All. Yesterday I visited my local Independent Jaguar specialist for the first time. They have been selling, servicing & repairing Jaguars for over 40 years. Talking to the service manager, he was saying that the F-Type is pretty bomb proof with the only real issue coming from the convertible roof motor failing due to debris blocking the drain & with all the wet UK weather, water filling the said motor with water.
What experience do any of you have of this happening or indeed, do you think the F-Type, especially the V6S, has any other weak spots? It will be interesting to hear your thoughts & experiences.

Never heard of this issue with the convertible top motor.
Most issues with F-type are oil-related, that is, if you neglect oil changes you will have issues. When buying one, it makes sense to pay extra for one with full service records.

Agree...ISTR only one top motor issue and that was a result of a poor ground?
Your indie mechanic seems to be on his game.
Most Fs here are weekend drivers that are not kept out in the rain.
