Coolant ppes replacement
Dear all,
I'm so excited, having just finished replacing the coolant pipes to metal with the invaluable help of my brother. ( I couldn't have done it without his help.) The whole operation took 2 full days of work.
I can say the operation is straightforward for one who is handy with the tools and has watched countless videos on the subject.
The only snag was the crossover pipe leaking at the sensor O-ring, because I foolishly replaced the one that came with the part, to the original on the plastic part, which was worn. It leaked a lot until my brother, with his deft fingers, managed to take out the sensor with all parts in situ, replacing the O-ring.
While I was at it, I cleaned the internals of the SC, changed the oil and installed a solid coupler.
The only job that needs to be done now is to put the undertray back on and wash the car.
I feel so much more confident in the car now, not leaving me stranded because of Y-pipe leakage. My F-Type is a 2016 model that came with the 1st generation pipes with the dreaded seam.
Thank you all for the friendly advice and useful information I have found in this great forum.
