I did not turn in to them. I work for *** Communications and a sister company under *** is AutoTrader and *** Automotive.
So I get a 75% or so discount. If I had not changed it to OEM and left it at OEE.. I would have been about Deductible rate. when it happens again.. and down here with so many semis on the roads and horrible roads... it will.. I will see what Geico will pay. IF I was still in FL, it would be free.

No deductibles in South Carolina for windshield repair or replacement (state law), but I did run into a surprise when I had a cracked windshield replaced in my F-Type.
I called Geico to report the claim and indicated to them that I wanted my dealer to do the replacement with OEM glass. They ultimately approved both but failed to mention that there was a threshold above which an increase in premiums would occur--surprise!

I had the misfortune to have a rock thrown by a car in front of me that hit the "sweet spot" right at the joint between the front (heated) windshield and the glass roof panel. Of course, since Murphy was in the passenger seat, it cracked both pieces of glass. I decided to take it to the dealer to have them replace both, as I wanted the car back in the same condition as it was new. The dealership here has a company around the corner from them to whom they send all their work. I'm sure there is a markup, but my insurance company paid the entire cost aside from my $100 deductible ($6,600). All the glass was OEM. The dealership told me that the heated windshields are always OEM as there are no aftermarket manufacturers of those.

but that is good news to hear.. I have been worried what would happen if the top got a crack.
