Question Dashcam hardwire

Hi there
I’m hoping someone out there has hardwired a dashcam to come on automatically and perform parking monitoring.

Just bought a VIOFO A119 V3 dashcam and looking for info on which passenger compartment fuses to piggyback onto. Which ones are Battery and which are ACC and which fuse rating to choose? Pic of fuse box attached.

TIA
Steve

Here is a Youtube video on it. I had my Drone mobile XC dash cam professionally installed but I unplugged as it was killing my F-Type's battery when the engine was off. Trying to find a quality dash cam for my F-Type has been a impossible challenge for me, ugh.

Hi Steve,
In the passenger fuse box (RHD) I used Fuse No. 3 for constant Battery + and fuse No. 25 for ACC(switchable) - This is 2024 model.
My dash cam is a DriveVision 4k which can be controlled by an App. This allows you to select 'turn off'' when the car is turned off as a default - or not.
It also has an optional rear camera and was quite reasonable at AUD 250.

Not sure if your fuse arrangement will be the same but easily tested with a multimeter and a contortionist licence.

Battery discharge issues is the entire reason that my F-Type is my only car without a dashcam. You can turn off parking mode on my BlackVue cameras. You may want to check them out.

Most if not all dash cams seem to have the feature. I could turn off parking mode on my Drone XC but it was still draining the battery.

Hi

thanks for your replies! Your video was a great help and gave me the confidence to remove the various panels involved. Normally I break this sort of thing. They’ve moved the fuses though! Got it all wired in and working. I’ll watch out for battery drain, the VIOFO cam parking mode has a threshold setting so that it stops drawing power when the voltage drops. Parking mode can also be turned off completely. Now I’ve just got to put it back together!

Steve
Where are the fuses!!!? Over to the left!

Many thanks! I know what you mean about the contortionist licence! Your answer really helped as I wasn’t really sure which fuses to use. Got it all working now.

thanks again
Steve

Hi Steve, I'm glad the fuses were the same in your model, short trip to the chiropractor and all will be back to normal.
Cheers

Thanks, just what I needed! Looks like my 2017 S has the same fuse layout.

Alright, someone help me here. I tried using the following but it didn’t work on my 2017 SVR:

In the passenger fuse box (RHD) I used Fuse No. 3 for constant Battery + and fuse No. 25 for ACC(switchable) - This is 2024 model.

I’ve hardwired a dash cam on my 2015 R previously but i can’t for the life of me find the thread with the different fuses to use from the passenger side footwell. Anyone know?
