The V6 also has a shorter stroke than the V8 so you may or may not be able to use V8 rods with V6 pistons.
Guess you missed the first two words…

No, I didn't miss them at all.
Yes the V6 can be bored and stroked to increase it's displacement, IIRC someone has done this to something like 3.4 litres.
My point was that you can't just plonk V8 pistons in an otherwise stock V6, they won't fit.
Without some research I don't know the exact difference between the V6 bore and the V8 bore but I suspect it is more than the rebore limit of the V6, maybe someone else can chime in on this?
I'll gladly eat my hat if a V6 can be safely bored to fit V8 pistons.

I see this for the V6, from the workshop manual…
Bore and Stroke 84.5 X 89 mm

And from the AJ133 training doc…
Bore/stroke (mm) 92.5/93.0

“IIRC someone has done this to something like 3.4 litres.“
it was also reportedly done to 3.7L to match the V8 pistons. The 3.4 was titanium rods and custom pistons.

“My point was that you can't just plonk V8 pistons in an otherwise stock V6, they won't fit”
- No one said nor implied you could, hence starting with increase displacement before talking about pistons.

“I'll gladly eat my hat if a V6 can be safely bored to fit V8 pistons.”
- V6 and V8 share the same block. Eat your hat lol

To be clear it was an overview of what could be done. Didn’t go into minutiae like it needs to be properly decked/honed, resleeved, etc…

Or as other suggested buy a v8. To make a long story short, I was in your shoes a few years ago.

Had dual pulleys, wmi, tcu tune, forged rims, lithium battery etc.

Was in the middle of adapting the tvs 1900. Unfortunately (luckily) a deer killed my jag so I never finished... I bought a v8 instead

Assuming you can do most of the work yourself; should be within your budget. Biggest expense will be producing a one off intake manifold and intake runners.

There is a chance that the runners can be adapted as is, I was experimenting prior to moving to the v8. But if not you, can probably have a mold made of the runner and just change where the holes for the bolts go.

would you mind DM’ing me the info you have from when you built yours I’ve seen your post on other threads and I know you are a great source to help me build this car and yes I know getting a v8 is easier to do but I want to build a v8 killer, I don’t want the bimmer boys to have all the fun lol.

I commend you, but good luck. The modded V8's are creeping up on 800hp with the new 2300's + cooling mods (I know, not all that impressive as far as modified V8's go lol)
