Did an autocross run with my F-type V8S today...
AWDs offer very little advantage on tight autocross courses, particularly given the additional upfront weight mentioned by Chawumba.
Technically the F-Type's AWD system is very heavily rear biased and you can still throw the rear out when needed. But the AWD has an advantage over RWD in AutoX.
...except maybe to get the power down through the front wheels coming out of corners after braking (where the weight is pushed on to the front), where they would have the advantage over the torquey RWD V8s. At least that was my excuse for being smashed up by a WRX when I was in my XKR.
