Default Dirt cheap V8 S (fake ad?)

Hello

I saw this Salsa red V8 S. It seems to good to be true. The VIN is: SAJWA6GL3FM968736 (according to the ad)
Low mileage, one owner. Of course according to the seller. You never know...

I asked for more photos to see if the seller will respond.

Something is wrong or the seller has an unusually quick need for cash.

I will stay close just to see if the seller responds with more photos etc. Just for curiosity.

It's not a real VIN in the listing. The second photo is distorted. The link address is clearly bogus.

Clearly a fraud advert. I'm sure the "seller" will be requesting a wire transfer via Western Union or such and tell you the vehicle will be delivered to you door.

I agree with those things and obviously paying in advance is something I would never do. Especially not for this case.

I agree its not right, but the vin is real. The best case scenario is they will say they had 10 bids above list and ask you to bid against some real bidders and some fake ones. Either way, its not going to be a great deal in the end. There is a slim chance it could be a fair deal.

At that price, one strategy could be to throw it on a credit card then charge it back if not delivered as described. Tell him/her up front in writing that you intend to do that. The bank will flag it as a large purchase and call you before authorization, or call them with a heads-up, then get all three of you on the horn to confirm the details. Then you have a bigger middleman than the dealer. If its all good, refi or pay cash to the bank.

Fishy VIN
The last part of the VIN ends with K then 6 numbers
e.g. my 2014 built in 13 is K05525

Checking Topix, this is definitely a bogus (invalid) VIN.

Several hours ago I emailed Autotrader to confirm the car's availability and have gotten no reponse (as I expected). If it was confirmed I was going to fly out tomorrow to see the car in person. I doubt anyone will get an answer to inquiries. SCAM "writtem" all over this.

No carfax records but it does find the VIN.

no way this is legit, the seller has other cars, or in this case the dealer Affordable autos of tuscan listed for ridiculous prices, a 2014 458 spider with 3500 miles for 120k, a car easily worth over 200, and a 17 turbo S for 58k that alone is worth over 150k, the chances of these cars being legit is close to none, he could sell these cars at auction or dealer trade in for over double, easily get 40k for the F type, 150-160 for the Porsche and 175 for the Ferrari. SCAM ALERT
