Discounts on 2015 models?
I've been recently looking into picking up an F-Type, and there seem to be a fair share of new 2015's still in the wild. In particular, I found a fully loaded S coupe (96k MSRP) for about $82,000. I feel like I could do much better than that, but what do you all think would be a reasonable amount to offer? I feel like a 20-25% discount off of MSRP isn't crazy with the 2017's coming shortly.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

hi, on the 2015 build, but 2016.5 model I just got one over here for about 15 percent off - my shift key isnt working so I cant use symbols...
if it had been the 2015 model year i would have wanted 30 percent off, or essentially to have an R for the price of an S.
but our market is probably a lot different to yours, we pay a lot more here.

That car should be under 70k at this point.

Did you happen to notice how many miles were on that car? In order to put that price in proper context, you'd have to ask the dealer if it had been "punched," meaning it was listed by the dealer with JLR as "sold" and the warranty clock started. Dealers get reimbursed for every "sale" even if it's not really a sale and on a car which has never been registered.

Thanks Jim, but I'm not interested in it. I was simply trying to explain that the deep discount you saw may not be indicative of the price on a truly "new car."

Just having come off the hunt for red f type myself, there is quite a bit of difference between MY15 and MY16.5. Most importantly for me the MY16.5 (and probably MY16) has the new media setup. I had the other (older) in my second XF and I wasnt that keen on it. We have the new "tile" setup in our XE and it is in the MY16.5 F Type. From our experience in the XE, it is really good, and quick, and easy to use. My only complaint in the XE is that the home buttons (hard and soft) are on the far side for us in Australia, but probably are on the near side for you. The difference wouldnt be enough to turn me off the car, but I'd pay more for one with the new system. It doesnt have a CD player, though! Not that I'd use one, but it was a surprise in the XE.

Yes, this is very important, I expect most if not all 15s have been punched. If it is not a CPO, after you negotiate the lowest price ask to CPO car. You should be able to get 6 yr 100k for $1500 give or take.
