Default Do my R tailpipes look correct?

Just had a new rear "muffler" system installed by dealer. Looking into the tailpipes I can see the exhaust valve in the outer exhaust pipes. I don't remember being able to see that on my original pipes.

I can't tell if it is just me. Perhaps I didn't notice before because the inside of the pipes were black and therefore hard to see inside. These being new, it is easier to look into the pipe. I'm concerned that either I'm crazy or there may be some inner piece missing.

Google was no help. Guess people don't take photos of inside their tailpipes--weird!

Please take a look at my pic and tell me what you think. Is this replacement exhaust the same as the original? I'll head to the dealer and look at a new one later to compare as well.

Thanks!
