Just for the record, I unwrapped my car last night rather than wait till April, a first for me. Was sunny and warm (55F, it's WI), I couldn't stop myself. My wife commented I had a crazed look in my eye. She just kept out of the way as it took a bit of time to undo the winterizing. As always, the car perked right up into action. Took it for a good hour drive with the top down. Heat is working just fine.

I have to admin, the Triumph wasn't as eager to wake up, but also is now alive and ready for the summer.

I do feel better today.

+1 Had a similar experience Saturday. Was just great to get the car out again after 10 weeks of winter slumber. Just so darn satisfying!

Dang, 19 & 20 MPG in a V8? The main reason I didn't consider a V8 was because I thought that they were around 15... (OK, and it could kill me very easily...)
Could have gotten a good deal on a C63 a couple years back but one look at the 13/17 and couldn't do it... I get about 20-22 in my C43, about the same in the V6S (three tanks so far.)
Yay for unwrappings!

In case you hadn't noticed U, our dear friend Marko is a pretty big guy (with a big heart) and I wouldn't mess with him before, during, or even after that first or any meal. Just watching out for U.

I averaged 17 in my C63. It was not all that terrible. The ridiculously small fuel tank was the main problem with the fuel consumption. It constantly needed to be filled up.

I've averaged 23 mpg in my 2015 F-Type R, which is what I was expecting to get. It sees about 50% motorway/highway miles (cruised at 80 mph with low 30's), but the rest of the time it gets driven like it was meant to.

I get the same with my XJR (the last generation 4.2 V8). By far the worst one for fuel consumption is my 3.0 V6 X350 which only averages 21 combined and 18 just with town driving.

It is interesting to see from the feedback here that the V6 F-Types are seeing similar mpg to the V8s.

Mine is daily driven, though I have the benefit of living in sunny Florida. About 20 miles per day for my total daily commute through start/stop traffic along local roads (the A1A, if anyone is interested). Shockingly, I've been averaging about 17mpg, and my car never leaves dynamic mode, though I also rarely get a chance to really open her up. For comparison, my Mini Countryman S gets an average of about 26 on the same schedule, so all in all that's not too bad for twice the engine and almost three times the power.

My 2017 Base has been getting 21.6 average since it was born. Mostly city, some freeway. Gotta push to keep up with the V8s!

I daily my F-Type R and typically see 21-23 mpg. Usually see 27 on the highway trips with 28.3 on a trip from Tampa to Bradenton Motorsports. MPGs were much worse on the quarter runs once we hit the track though. ��

For those who care - we previously confirmed that the computer reports about 2mpg high. Would be interesting to know if that's still the case.

Can anyone suggest a seat cover that fits the driver's seat?
I DD my car, including to the gym, and I want to avoid getting my sweat into the leather.

I haven't tried them yet paying to the weather but I bought the following from Amazon to protect my passenger seat back when my dog is riding.

I plan to use my F-Type V6 as a daily driver, or as I’ve also heard it called a “grocery getter”. As such, I am curious what type of noise the 6-cylinder puts out on a general “daily driving” basis (quick trips to the store, coffee or beer run etc). Would you say there is an audible “snarl” at nearly any speed even in stop-and-go traffic? And would you say you generally have pretty good control over the sound output?

Basically, much as I plan on having fun with the car, I am just trying to avoid a situation where the car is summoning a great deal of attention (noise-wise) when I’m just trying to make a quick trip to the post office lol. Appreciate your thoughts : )

The V6 with switchable exhaust is not a problem for my neighborhood. For mornings and evenings I put it in quiet mode and I've never had any complaints. I have neighbors that have made nose complaints, but never for me. Keeping the speed and the revs down helps too.

It's a refined sound, and not the loudest car on the street. The initial startup is the only time it barks, and even then, not like the V8.
