Default Do you hate the sound of your car horn?

Hi guys, I honestly do not like the sound of the Jaguar car horn in the F-type. Are there any options to switch and replace the car horn, possibly with another better sounding car horn. I actually thought that a car horn similar to a Ferrari would be awesome. Has anyone changed the car horn in your vehicle? I really would like to have a Ferrari car horn in my car. Your thoughts please.

Worse is the sound of the horn when you lock the car. It sounds like a Volkswagen. A car like this should chirp or something.

That sound is colloquially known as "meep-meep".
From my reading it's not made by the main horn but by a separate beeper.

Should be a very loud version of a real jaguar growling

Back to the OP's question, I find the real/actual horn to be plenty loud (especially when the alarm goes off in my "under-main-roof" garage!), so maybe he is talking about the door locking/mistake making "meep-meep" instead?

No I agree, the horn is sad, not the meep meep locking sound, but the horn. I rarely use it so when I did finally need to I was mightily disappointed. Definitely needs an upgrade.

Horn compliant were abundant in the XF forum as I recall. I think it's a British thing.

In close to three years of ownership, I don't think I've ever used the horn even once! I'll have to give that a try today and report back.

The horn is a hi and lo note combined. Last week I used the horn and it sounded weak, the car was in for service yesterday so I mentioned the problem. They have ordered me a new horn, it seems that the lo note trumpet was not working. They come as one unit hi & lo note combo.

You can disable the meep-meep sound in Setup if you don't like it.

In previous cars, I've installed Hella horns. They're a nearly direct replacement, and they're quite loud.

Are the horns readily accessible in the F-Type?

I am impressed.

[re] the horn: I did try it this morning and, much as I hate the word, "meh". But since I never use it anyway...

Mine chirps on the second lock press? UK model though.

Maybe JNA are used to an older demographic who think 80s sound effects are the thing?

How easy / difficult is it to get to the horns? Can they be accessed from the undertray or is it necessary to remove the front bumper assembly?
