Default Door Handles In, With Mirrors Out

I have a 2015 R Coupe. Did a photo shoot on the car a few weeks back. Photographer wanted the door handles folded in, but the mirrors out. Couldn't figure out if there was a way to do that. I even stumped the dealer on this one.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I think this is possible. There was a post where someone had this exact problem. His mirrors wouldn't fold when the doors were locked. He finally figured out how to undo this so his mirrors would fold. Try searching for that thread. I'll try to see if I can find it. It's some weird thing you have to do with the mirror buttons from what I remember

Here u go, he fixed it by press both left and right

Try that to see if it prevents the auto fold?

I have a 2013 V8S convertible . In my (old) usermanual I could read that
autofolding the mirrors when locking the doors is standard but it can
be changed by the dealer . My preference would be to fold the mirrors
only by pressing both the left and right button and not automatically
when locking the car. So i went to my dealer and could watch what the guys
tried and got after connecting their laptop to the car. The only thing
they could do was to deselect the option "autofolding mirrors".
No option like "no autofolding when locking the car"
Unfortunatley doing this the mirrors couldn't be folded by pressing
both the left and right button any more . They behave like unmotorised
mirrors . So I went back to the default setting .
Perhaps software layout is more sophisticated now and your dealer can
help you keeping the mirrors out .

I think it's designed to allow you to force it open and closed with your hands so that, e.g., if a person runs into the mirror it won't cause any damage. But if it's forced open in that manner, then it won't close automatically when you lock the car anymore. In such situations, to get it to close automatically when you lock the car, you have to reset it by pressing the L and R mirror buttons at the same time.

So long story short, force it open.

This appears to be something you can program yourself using the menu system on the instrument display.
