Default Door Panel Fit

Hi. Just got my beautiful F Type. I’ve read a lot about poor panel gaps and I notice that my driver’s door (right hand drive) sits proud of the rear panel. Passenger door is fine. Can this be adjusted?

Yep.
On the panel next to the door is a large U shaped hook / door catch, held on by two largish Torx screws (T40?).
Loosen those screws and push the catch in a couple of mm, then do the screws up until the catch is reasonably tight, then shut the door and check the gap.
Keep adjusting until the gap is perfect, then do the screws up nice and tight.

Thanks. I wonder if I should get the dealer to do it in case I cause a problem then they say it’s down to me. Or am I being too cautious?

As long as you have the correct size and shape torx bit it is easy, just be careful you don't slip and scratch anything and make sure the screws are done up good and tight when you are finished adjusting.

both of mine went back to dealer for minor adjustment to panel fitment. No hesitation by dealer, almost as if expected. One thing to think about is there is a limited time on warranty for fitment issues - can’t remember exactly where I saw it or was told, but worth asking about to avoid surprises.

This. Mine also had some minor fitment issues, primarily with the interior, and the dealer was quick to resolve. They seem to expect a certain degree of inconsistencies with regard to panel and/or trim fitment. I think as long as the vehicle is still under the original warranty period, the dealer will honor fitment adjustment requests w/o pushback.

Let’s hope they can make mine right. Thanks guys.
