I noticed that my door stop arms are both cracked through the plastic but have not failed yet? Anybody else have this problem and what’s next?? 2016 R Coupe

 

Very odd indeed…but the nut on the door itself shows that it has been removed/ tightened forcefully…that suggests some history that might help to explain the damage.

 

It appears by your picture that this is the Right hand side door. The Plastic part is labeled LH. So i'm guessing that someone installed the stop on the wrong side. Check the other side to see if it says RH. If so there backwards!

 

Right side here slightly worse. Bolt never touched by me. Dlr shouldn’t have touched & I’ve owned since new.

thats just the plastic right ? The actual metal part is unbreakable so just ignore it.

 

Duct tape??

 

I first noticed cracks in the plastic outer layer of the stops several years ago. The core is metal, so I treated it as a minor cosmetic issue.
