After many trips on my bike I decided to take my wife to the area in my car. We’re on a 10 day road trip with 3 of those staying at Snowbird Mountain lodge which I highly recommend and located on the Cherohala Skyway.
The Dragon paving is complete with just the centre (CDN spelling) lines being painted today.
It really is unbelievable how much the town of Robbinsville depends on us car and bike enthusiast to keep the economy going and the reason the cops for the most part leave you alone.
Unless your a real A hole you can push the limits without fear of being ticketed.
The surrounding area is beautiful and you have to try to find a straight a way longer than an 8th mile.
The quality of the pavement most everywhere is excellent and except for a few pavement cracks the Dragon was better than most roads I’ve driven and further proof they only repaved it to make our experience better.
I said it last fall and I’ll say it again The Dragon and Deals Gap is a lawless circus especially on the weekends.
Anyway just thought I would share with like minded enthusiasts.
Just there 2 weeks ago on bike, the new pavement is nice. I've done all those roads in the E, the F, sport and cruiser bikes and must say that for my preferred style of driving/riding I prefer the Cherohala. And Graham County has finally rescinded it's "dry" status. Thank you, Jesus!
