Driver seat 2019 R Convertible
My car is currently in the shop for its first check over since I purchased from another dealer. I can put both feet against the floor and push back into my seat and it pops or buckles. Its not something you just feel you can hear it. When I accelerate with some force same issue. I think it may also pop in the bottom of the seat. I love a lumbar but it seems that mine will push forward or into your back but not move up and down any. Just wondering if anyone has had any drivers seat issues like these. I am waiting for my dealer to tell me what they think. I have heard of some seats not being bolted down tight enough but that does not seem to be my issue. thx
I had the same issue in my 20 SVR. The dealer looked it over and even pulled the seat out, but couldn't figure it out. So, they ended up ordering a new seat frame. While I was waiting on that (for months), I decided to peel back the seat cover in the bottom area (not the seat back) to find that there is a metal bracket (brace?) that forms around another piece like a squared off U. Anyway, the U was not fitting tightly around the other piece so I unbolted it and squeezed it slightly smaller with a channel lock pliers. I then bolted it back in and now the U fits more tightly around the other piece. Fixed. Had I known that this was common I would have taken pics and written up a diy. Hopefully this applies to others cars as well.
Yes, my lumbar support works. However, it doesn't exactly "roll" up and down like some other cars do. Think of it more like an upper lumbar bag and a lower lumbar bag that will inflate and deflate to give you the support you need. All that being said, the lumbar area was not at all where my problem was - mine was the seat portion. The seat cover can be removed by unclipping a bunch of C clips around the perimeter of the seat cushion. Peel that back and you can investigate some of the seat brackets, check for loose bolts, etc.
