Race You to the Bottom - New Medicine
Great video! Cars, guns, explosions and robo-hookers - awesome!

It must be the Lattice of Coincidence. I recently went on a Jaguar Associates Group drive and on my way home pulled up a folder I'd called "Road Music." It's moderately eclectic, but my tastes run a little hard. I made this so long ago I'd forgotten about it. It looks like I went through some subset of my collection and grabbed things that caught my eye. Some appear to have been chosen just because of the title. I never finished the project or did any editing after that first pile o' songs. I think I've got all the artists identified, but it's from memory. Where some have multiple versions I think I have the right artist - some original, some covering. In no particular order:

EDIT: This is only from songs I've ripped from my CD collection, so lacks recent stuff.

Another Wordly Device - Prong
Bad Craziness - D.A.D.
Beat The Street - Sister Sin
Breaking The Law - Judas Priest
Delivering The Goods - Judas Priest
Exciter - Judas Priest
For Dear Life - Prong
Highway Star - Deep Purple
Hit And Run Holiday - My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult
Loud - Kepone
Midlife Crisis - Faith No More

She Drives Me Crazy - Fine Young Cannibals
Turbo Lover - Judas Priest
Bad Motor Scooter - Montrose
Caprice - Prong
Demon Speeding - Rob Zombie
Fueled - Anthrax
Glamour Is A Rocky Road - My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult
Good Thing - Fine Young Cannibals
Highway Of Heartaches - Red Meat
Super-Charger Heaven - White Zombie
Dragula - Rob Zombie
Hard Road (Wring That Neck) - Deep Purple
I'm In Love With My Car - Queen
Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck - Prong
Car Song - Elastica
Creature Of The Wheel - White Zombie
Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment - The Ramones
Hell Bent For Leather - Judas Priest
Kick Out The Jams - Blue Oyster Cult
Never Gonna Stop (The Red, Red Kroovy) - Rob Zombie
Supernaut - 1000 Homo DJs (from Nativity In Black - Black Sabbath covers)
The Time Warp - Rock Horror Picture Show Soundtrack
Broken Peace - Prong
Jesus Built My Hotrod - Ministry
Take On The World - Judas Priest

Cool Place To Park - GWAR
Hot Blood Risin' - My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult
Riding On The Wind (Live) - Judas Priest
Born To Be Wild - probably the Blue Oyster Cult cover

I see you have Highway Star twice - I guess one is a typo for Smoke on the Water?

No, I deliberately didn't include Smoke on the Water. It gets played too much. The second one must be the cover by X-Cops.

EDIT: I apparently did this four years ago. I put the USB drive in my PC and stripped numerical prefixes and such, but it was just song titles. I added the artists.

ls |sed -e 's/\.mp3//' -e 's/^[0-9].//' -e 's/^[0-9].//' -e 's/^[ ]//'

Yes, I could have tightened up the sed scripts, but it was a one-shot and that was "good enough."

Enough sed!

I love regular expressions!

NO driving list is complete without Radar Love by Golden Earring. The quintessential "drivers" song.

in the car I've been listening to a lot of Thomas Vent (quite a bit on spotify, he is fantastic) and other electro blues.
Sample of Thomas Vent
But for driving music, it is very hard to go past Fluke. Here is a sample which I have picked mainly for the clip (borderline NSFW - not safe for wives).
and then it doesnt get much better than this

It's funny, I'm addicted to this time capsule of a podcast with Dan Harmon, Jeff B. Davis, and Kumail Nanjiani, as well as Mitch Hurwitz (in honor of Jessica passing today, RIP. Mallory Archer and Lucille Bluth are legend)

But John Williams' score for the asteroid belt chase is stellar.

Also, I'm into old exploitation film scores and lounge jazz, so I'm going to say Ennio Morricone's score to "Danger: Diabolik", as well as Lalo Schifrin's "Bullitt".

Other than that, I'm a full album guy--> Chinese Man, Fat Freddy's Drop, Khruangbin, Maribou State, Flying Lotus, Ben Khan.
Ben's "Drive Part II" is filthy sexy, and I adore it:

But the ultimate is Jai Paul. For me at least.

I'm a DJ and will go through single tracks in lining up a gig or for recording a mix, and a lot of the old French House music, or Russian minimalist house. This thread has me thinking and I'll play by the rules next post. =)

If you like ACDC, here is another (originally) Aussie band with a similar sound.

Love your choices Lizzardo. Never heard of Prong or Red Meat.

I would add the classic Hot Rod Lincoln and any version of Route 66.

Prong is moderately hard stuff. It's generally considered metal, but there's some of variety over the years. "Rude Awakening" is a good album, all the way through.

Red Meat is interesting, in that they can be very traditional country in sound, but with non-traditional lyrics. Check out "The Girl With the Biggest Hair and the Longest Nails" and "Twelve Inch Three-Speed Oscillating Fan", along with "Highway of Heartache" to see what I mean.

I need to add to my list of "road music" but first need to get back on the road. Vaccinated, so moving in the right direction
