Default Dual zone temperature control

Hi I have the single zone temperature control and was wondering if it's possible to activate the dual zone temperature control?

If you have a new F type, you can go into the climate screen and have the drivers and passenger side synched or have them independent, controlled by the temperature dials.

I seem to remember reading on this forum that the hardware is identical on single zone and dual zone, I believe editing CCF file using SDS can enable dual zone

Correct, there is a post by Cambo around here somewhere about this. From memory he enabled dual zone using SDD but not in the way he thought it would be done.

Yes, i've activated the dual zone on several F-Type's now, requires an unlocked SDD (i.e. dealers cannot do it) and yes it was not easy to figure it out...

My 2018 doesn't have the dual climate zones and I have no use for that feature. But, I have to ponder why Jaguar would not activate it on every vehicle if all it entails is a software modification.

$$$. Why give it away for free when people will pay for you it? Different markets get different option packs but I wouldn't be surprised if it was added into a comfort pack in order to 'bulk it up'.
In all honestly I would always pay to have that option added when speccing out a new car, and yet I actively avoid using it. If someone else has been driving my car, or a passenger changes their temperature, the first thing I do when I get it back is sync the front climate. It's a mild compulsive thing... the dials must match.

So all I need now is some new computer skills or access to somebody who has the knowhow. 👍

I've had dual zone climate on my last three or four rides, but this 2018 F-type does not have it, nor do I want it or care. If any passenger is hell bent on setting their own temperature independent from mine, I will be happy to allow them to exit the vehicle at the nearest, safest--no, on second thought, it doesn't have to be safe--debarkation point.

I have no clue what's indicated on the dials (wasted bit of technology for me). All I know is that it's the right temperature. If not, I just twist the dial. Whatever the spousal unit does on her side of the car is her business. I've learned not to intercede in much of anything she chooses to do.

I don't know where you are exactly, can only see that you are in the UK, somewhere.... I have a friend in Warwickshire who would be able to do it.

Hi Cambo, that's good to know, could you find out what it would cost me, I would be interested in meeting up with him, I live in Stockport which is near Manchester in England.

Question Dual Climate Control setup

Following this thread I see that you can activate the dual feature using an SDD. I have a 2014 Base model and would like to do this. Excuse my ignorance but what is an SDD and where can I find one.

Software Design & Development tool. Hard to find the right hardware and software for the Jag unless you are a Jag dealer, though some independents may have current setup. You don’t just head over to Pep Boys to pick one up.

Sorry Lance, but it's System Driven Diagnostics.
And I think it has been or will shortly be replaced with a completely different/new system for new JLR products, Cambo can chip in on this.

I hate electrons. They are always so negative.
