Default Dynamic mode/Driver aids failure on the track

I bought a gently used 2016 F Type S RWD a few months ago and have been loving it. Last week i took it to TRack night for the first time at the Charlotte Motor Speedway roval course and had a blast but was very disconcerting. Every session as the car was pushed hard it dropped out of Dynamic mode and lost other driver aids such as traction/stability control. The selector switch wouldn’t work and it would only ‘reset’ when i stopped and turned the car on and off. I assume this isn’t how the car is supposed to work as it’s on the track that you’re most likely to need these settings. Has anyone else experienced this or similar? Anyone any ideas what’s causing it/what’s the fix? 140mph heading down the back straight into the banked curve is amazing but would be a little less scary if these settings worked🤔😎😊

Were you getting an overheat warning on the e-diff?

The same thing has happened to me a few times - all of a sudden Dynamic mode "unavailable", various other functions turned off and a rash of associated messages.
The only fix was to stop the car, shut it down, then start 'er up again.
But I wasn't on a track and the car was barely warm - every time it was when I pulled out of one particular petrol (gas) station after filling up and buried the right hoof (due to semi-blind entry back onto the road). I no longer use that gas station, I only ever used it coz it sold 100 RON cheap but it stopped stocking 100 RON about a year ago.
So in my case it wasn't from extended pushing the car hard (such as on a track) or high ambient temp or heat soak and I don't have an e-diff.
I have no idea what caused it!

Edit - I have one suspicion what might have caused it and it is diff related.
Each time I pulled out of that gas station and then floored it, the car was not quite facing straight and it was angled a little to the left, as well as "bouncing" just a little from the gutter dip.
So a bit of rear end wobble and DSC being invoked and maybe ride height sensors and/or wheel speed sensors coming into play, all causing the diff to be a little unhappy.

I never experienced anything like this while on the track. It is probably related to heat and electrical connectors.

Also, you want to use trackDSC or traction control correcting for minor slip and slides generates a lot of unnecessary corrections and pulls power.

Thanks all. The road circuit part of the track is pretty aggressive on the car with a lot of hills and off camber turns. It was also pretty hot out but not baking so don’t know how much that affected it. I guess i was just surprised as I’d thought that performance driving was what those features and aids were installed for. With respect to the response about ride height and wheel speed sensors being impacted, do these sensors have tolerances that could be adjusted?
Appreciate everyone’s advice.
Thanks,

I've tracked mine many times and never had any issues. It's definitely not something track specific.

Bump

My 2014 convertible V8 S F-Type does this quiet often, unpredictable, but resets if I turn it of for a several seconds, well quiet a few seconds but always resets. It's a bit annoying.

This is a new to me '14 F-Type to replace my '07 Convertible BRG w tan top XK that was totaled over a minor driver's side and rear 1/4 panel booboo, really, it looked minor but after finding a shop that could work on it I got an email from my insurance a few days later saying the $13.5K worth of damage exceeded 75% the value of the car, so upgrade was in order...

Is there a fix to this problem? Haven't looked too deep in the forum for it.

This happens to me as well. Most of the time it happens just randomly and under normal driving conditions. Glad it’s being brought up here. 2014v8s.

Over 2000 on-track miles in F-Type R's (rear wheel drive), never had this happen. Only time the electronics threw a warning was because a tire was getting low because it got a nice hole in it, so the electronics did their job.

I like your theory, although it's never happened to me.

Please don't tell me I'm getting old and not pushing it enough.
