Default Dynamic Mode retention??

After digging thru the owner's manual with no luck I decided to revert to my best source of info, the Forum in hopes that someone else might have had this problem and a solution. According to the manual, when the Dynamic mode is selected, it will remain selected for 6x hours, or until turned off. On my '17 F-Type, I have to reselect it everytime I shut the engine off. I am guessing there is a setting somewhere in the 'Menu' to change this, but I haven't found it.

No setting, there was a software update that forced it to revert to off on every start. H136 was the one that did it for mine.

H239 also for the 17+ models. H139 has now been closed.

There is away around this but not for the average end user. You'd need specialist dealership equipment.

With my MY 17 f type R, sometimes I would just turn the car on (pressing start button without foot on the break) and engage the dynamic button, then start the car. I would be in dynamic mode until I turned the car off, but it would not be “remembered “ upon next startup. If I get in my car in the morning and start the car, THEN turn on dynamic mode., the car will stay in dynamic for about 6 hours after being shut off.

It seems that the latest software update has deleted the retention feature. Now I have to remember to turn it on after each start.

Same in my missus' 2020 XE. A bit of a PITA for me, though at least I dont get the glares from her when I leave it in dynamic.

I don't even need to think about it. It's just like grabbing my seat belt - automatic.

I still have retention and like it but flicking a button doesn't bother me either.

I have the Mods4cars module for the auto-down convertible top, and it also lets you:

- remember your dynamic mode setting and auto-recover it
- remember your exhaust setting and auto-recover it
- keep start/stop always disabled

I don't know if you can get it for a Coupe just to have those features without the softtop control, but if you are a fellow drophead driver it solves all those issues for you.
