Default Dynamic Volume Control

My 2010 XFR had a setting in the audio for automatic volume gain and I see the F-Type brochure mentions Dynamic Volume Control. In my 2016 Coupe I don't hear any evidence of volume adjustment and I don't see any setting for it either in the main infotainment or the other settings in the driver display.

So was/it model/year specific - I have the 770W Meridian. Is it defaulted to being always on with no user settings ? Searched a number of forums and the handbook but so far nothing....

The only quasi dynamic audio control that I'm aware of is in the vert. When the top is lowered the volume increases.

Interesting review from 2014 by a HiFi magazine....
Meridian Surround Sound System review ? Jaguar F-Type | What Hi-Fi?
The reality seems to be somewhat different, going by the Forum posts on the subject.

I can see there being some sensor which switches the volume on the convertible based on roof up or down. But that article also states " Jaguar admits the F-Type is one of the noisiest cars the company has ever made" - which coming from the XFR I agree with. Maybe there should be a similar connection to the exhaust button.

I guess I'm saying that I don't observe any volume gain based on interior noise in my coupe and that would appear to not be a defect and there is no user based control over that apart from manually fiddling with the volume...

My much loved 3.0L BMW Z3 had a "GAL" signal to the radio which varied the volume with speed. Was a few years ago though.

Loved the GAL control. Always had it up to 6(the highest). Now my volume control is on the steering wheel. I do notice a lower volume when stopped but that is all.

Even my Mustang with the Shaker system (which truthfully sounds waaay better than the Meridian) has speed compensated volume and I miss it in the F-Type.

This is absolutely ridiculous and even more nuts is that they have AVC in the F-Pace! Its getting annoying in a convertible to adjust this everytime I come to a light and get on the freeway with the top down.

Do you mean this?

It’s part of the sound settings.

The meridian system without modifications is tragic. These guys must have been paid for the review.

There is ZERO response below about 50hz in this car. And for some reason the tweeters "buzz" for low bass, while the subs do nothing. Don't get me started on the overboosted center speaker - I have already solved that problem. Equalization overall seems to be a bit of a mess too.

Hoping to get software update for buzzing tweeters without them arguing with me... or the dealer is going to experience "fussy customer"

Really have not heard a system so lacking in low bass response since I replaced the stock base system in my subcompact hyundai. I invested about $600 into the hyundai and it now blows the doors off the meridian.

If I can just get the rear panels apart on the F-type, I'll fix this mess.

.

I suspect it's a regional/model year difference. Don't have that option in mine (2016MY/USA)

Get the fix. Gets rid of the buzzing, offers full bass, and turns it into a decent sound system. Like night and day.

I'm new to the F-Type. What is "the fix". Thanks.

Many of the cars afflicted with poor sound due to faulty programming of the amplifier module. Jag Tech Bulletin JTB00537NAS2 resolves the issues. Many dealers are unaware of this resolution.
