Default Dynamics of AWD on the F Type

Hey Guys,

Here is a pretty decent video explaining and showing the dynamics of the AWD system on the F Type.

Default Manicured snow!

I just watched this and noticed how beautifully manicured those snowy roads were. No six inches of slush down the roadway center, no snow banks, or plough banks! I'm not thinking AWD will help that much in the winter anywhere outside MarketingLand, since the limiting factor is likely the lack of snow tires in the right sizes anyway!

Good point.. Although I found 19" rims and 'Yoko' snows for my XKR (it had 20" standard). The rims where from 'Coventry' and the Yoko's where a bit taller to make up for the smaller rim and it fit over the brakes. The taller tire worked good on the rough winter roads. Main issue was the snows whipped up stones that damaged the paint. So, to your point about the marketingland promo vrs. reality - its is a good one.

I considered putting these on by Ftype R, however I couldn't stand the thought of all the winter gravel damage, so just garaged it. Even with AWD I would prefer to garage it, or maybe put custom stone guards on it during the winter. As well, I thought of adding more xpel protection on a temporary basis every year to protect 'target' areas but didn't go through with it.
Lawrence.
