If you have a fuse in F43 that is probably an indication you have active exhaust - as there is no need for a fuse in a car without it.

I hope you're right. I'll give it a shot tonight.

That is incorrect information. F43 will have a fuse even without the active exhaust. Sometimes its cheaper for companies to build one version of a fusebox rather than having multiple versions.

My first F-TYPE base (along with other numerous ones I have access to) all had a fuse in F43 even though it didn't have an active exhaust system. Best way to check is to see if your car has the valves.

You mean the four valves leading to the muffler box thing? I don't have those.

It's just 2 valves if you had them.

My 2017 Base - no valves. I don't think that an Active Exhaust was optional on the Base.

Varies with year and market. If you don't have an active exhaust it may seem louder all of the time than the active exhaust does when being quiet. Which is no bad thing, unless you have a complete bunch of < > on the committee of your HOA.

But this is why you have 1st and 2nd Amendment Rights. Yes?

I am very sure the base model does not have the baffles. I'd recommend the Velocity mufflers. They look like a direct bolt on and interchangeable but don't take my word for it. They offer them in "Touring," "Sport," and "Super Sport." Be careful, because you can't change the sound on these.

Also, here is a base V6 with Quicksilver exhausts:

I have a base model, its done 50k and its loud enough, I think the coupe is pretty tame with the windows up but with the windows down and higher rev's it defiantly sounds sweet enough.

If you want to test the sound, if you switch to manual and rev in second gear to around 5-6k then let go of the accelerator the car will make that amazing machine gun popping noise.

It does do this in auto but its more forced in manual, I did have a dilemma of switching to a louder exhaust but feels its enough now I owned the car a few months.

if in a tunnel or car park give it some throttle and you will hear the tones bounce all off the walls very immature but wonderful at the same time

This shows what the active exhaust components look like - it's from 2014, so don't know what's changed. At some point, they deleted the vacuum pump and ran a vacuum line back from the engine compartment (MY17?)

I'm always excited when I find a tunnel or long overpass, and my immature 17 year old inner self pulls the shifter into sport, downshifts, and floors it to hear the glorious symphony... unless my wife is with me because she just gives me that "you're amazingly immature" look:-)

I checked my exhaust against @Greggbhill's Jag with active exhaust and mine is missing the solenoid. So I guess fuse F43 doesn't really do anything.

On the road, the active exhaust is a bit louder and pops a bit more often. Still what forums said I think is accurate: the non-active exhaust is closer to the active exhaust turned on than turned off.

My 2016 base manual has active exhaust. it has premium and vision packages so maybe it is included there.
But, given you lease the easiest way to get louder is to go lease a ferrari.

All manual F-Types come with active exhaust. Don't know why it doesn't come with standard with automatics. It would be nice if all F-Types came with the active exhaust.
