Actually, all the switches feed into the JaguarDrive Switchpack control module, which transmits actuation info onto the CAN bus to the appropriate modules.

Modules = virtual relays. At least, that how my little pea brain comprehends it.

Well, two years plus down the line, no issues. I even plugged it back in to check if it still worked...it did!

 

Are you referring to the in cabin noise? On the XF there's actually a mechanical noise enhancer (like a speaker) on the firewall connected by tubing to the engine that amplifies the noise and directs into the cabin behind the dash. I bet it's on the F type as well since the intent is to give the car a more "sporty" sound. Jaguar calls it a "symposer" I think. I blocked mine with a rubber stopper from the hardware store. No tools needed, just disconnect by hand and install plug. Doesn't totally eliminate but muffles it down to a much more discreet level that isn't so annoying.

I found it, but the purple wire plug is on the left facing the left wall on my 17 vert. They really don't us to disconnect this.
I'm going to loosen the top nut to swivel that module out a little to have some working room to disconnect...

 

Got a long nose pliers to reach plug, easy disconnect.

Just wanted to share - I had disconnected this on my 2016 F-Type R for 3 years without any problems - This thread worked wonders for me back then! The dealer never made any note about it during any of the two annual services. The location of the 2019 F-Type R convertible is the same as this picture above. Just wanted to confirm this in case anyone was wondering.

i've had the exact same experience. i bought my 2018 R coupe a few months ago and i immediately disconnected the plug, per this thread, and it has worked perfectly, no more annoying start/stop. today i tried manually changing the spoiler with the button (for the first time) and it didn''t work. i don't care about it either, i was just playing around.

 

The spoiler doesn't manually deploy on the coupe like the convertible. The only way you can deploy it on the coupe is to turn the ignition on without starting the car and then you can raise it for cleaning mode. As soon as you start to drive, the spoiler will lower and go back to automatic.

There is more than one inaccuracy in the manual. The coupe, in the US, works as I described.

 

What could be interesting, to have the exact description of the wires on the plug to see where they go. After, to cut the start/stop wire at a certain point and integrate a remote control receiver into the line, to be able to toggle the connection as desired and that keeps the last state. Is there some circuit description existing with the right wire colours outside Jag plant ? I think that this is not part of the Can-bus ?
