Default Electric E-Type?

Now that Harry and Megan have an electric E-Type, how soon will one be available to us Commoners (or an electric F-Type capable of 120-140 mph)?

Not likely unless you have a lot of money. They are using actual 60s Etypes and converting them. My guess very limited numbers with very high price tags.

The story was that theirs is rented, but they'll build one for you for $500,000. The story noted that it was faster than the original.

It was a one off proof of concept according to a documentary I saw. They worked with Rimac (yes the guys that had their car written off by The Hamster) to fit it into an existing E-Type using the existing engine mounts etc. They claim that no E-Type was harmed in the making of the concept and it could be returned to its former gas powered straight six glory. And yes, it is faster than the original due to weight shedding amongst other things. The concept is self limited to 100mph but could do 175mph...

I believe Harry just borrowed the Jag for the evening but good publicity for the Jaguar team who put it all together. Now a Rimac powered XKR ?

I'm sure if Harry decided he wanted one for his personal car, he would not have any problem getting it 'Gifted' as a wedding present. Not bad publicity even as it was. $500,000? Hope the electrics were not Lucas(?).
Maybe if I could finally win the lottery.........

Not sure I'd want to do 175 in that. I'd read 150, with 170 mile range, but that color is beautiful.

I may have misheard but I can see why they would "voluntarily" limit it to 100mph at present. What Rimac might have available if you press the Hamster Button however is anybody's guess ;-)

I remember reading about special attention paid to the soft top on the F-Type to be rated for the speeds it can muster. It was the vintage soft top that I was thinking of when I made that comment.

If money weren't an issue for me I'd be all over that car.

Richard Hammond aka The Hamster.

He test drove Rimac's concept car and narrowly escaped serious injury when it crashed. The Hamster Button was said to do odd things to a car ;-)
