Emergency Brake assist not available /Stability control not available drive w/ care
Well, from what I read emergency brake assist should’ve prevented this.
I was in stop and go traffic and a vehicle stopped quickly in front of me, but I always maintain a distance. However, my foot went all the way to the floor and the car did not stop. Unfortunately, the Jeep grand Cherokee in front of me is what stopped my car.
There were no warning lights at all; just my foot travelling all the way to the floor like there were no brakes at all. It is a very hot day in with a lot of stop and go traffic.
This almost sounds like those Toyotas that people thought originally were driving out of control on their own and at first they said it was a combination of a floormat on the accelerator and under the brake pedal at the same time, which seems rather hard to actually happen.
In a further study, they said it had to do with power assisted brakes, (Which that sounds like what this is .) which apparently when used repeatedly lose their abilities to do their job. Now Jaguar is not descriptive enough to let us know if the EBA is just power assisted brakes with a more impressive name or not.
I’ve stopped the car with no power brakes at all when a belt broke, and I didn’t have any trouble other than the fact that I had to push hard on the pedal. This was like somebody reached in and ripped out my brakes system in the middle of driving. With no warning lights of low fluid or anything. And I had the brakes serviced this year a few months back.
Any ideas?

I had a warning on the main screen like that. There was something amiss with the parking brake. Worked fine.
After a day the dealer called and said they could not understand what was wrong. Finally decided it was the Body control module. The stuff you are talking about are all directed to it I think.
So far they are working on. it. Called today, They want more for the door lock module. Has to be ordered. Another week. Which worked fine before they started. . I believe this could hit $5000 before we are through.
It would have been better to ignore the light.
Thank god we Jaguar owners do not care about cost. Or time,

I was dealing with a virtually dead battery this morning and saw at least one of those warnings. "Stability control not available drive w/ care" was one of them. I also saw something about ABS not working. I've been dealing with Restricted Performance / limp mode on several occasions leading up to this including this last weekend. I think the OBD II scanner at the auto parts store yesterday put it in some stupid mode where it drained the battery overnight. I got a new battery today, hopefully that resolves my issues. So far so good.
My understanding of the "Emergency Braking Assist" on my year is that it does only one thing:
If the brake pedal is pressed with full force and then released, the car will hold the braking for a brief period. This is based on research that shows drivers have a tendency to release the brake a moment before impact as the abdicate control in what they perceive as an unavoidable impact.
Some cars will actually brake on their own to avoid or reduce an impact, with no input from the driver, but I don't think my car has that. I don't have adaptable cruise control, which would use the same sensors and intelligence. Later cars? I dunno.

The battery must be charged before installation. These new cars use a ton of battery.
my new battery was 30% charged. The car would not like that.
used the Victron battery charger to maintain charge thru the installation. It has a supply option.
