Engine oil Leak, Need new front brakes.
About 3 weeks ago, I noticed two spots of engine oil on the garage floor. I’m not exactly sure where it’s coming from, but it appears to be toward the back of the engine. I’ve attached a screenshot. Since then, there haven’t been any more oil spots, and I’ve driven the car 3–4 times.
My questions are:
Edit: been quoted $1600 CDN for front brakes, rotors and sensor : is this reasonable. Jaguar quoted me 2800.
I am planning on going with it and having them diagnose the engine oil leak.
My questions are:
- What could be causing this?
- What should my next steps be to diagnose or fix it?

The car needs to be put on a lift, undertray removed, then investigate the leak's source. If the oil stains are difficult to pinpoint, then everything needs to be cleaned up, driven for a period of time, then re-evaluated. Would help to see where (in relation to the car) the drips are positioned.
If the Jag dealer wants to use original dusty, grabby pads, buy Porterfield R4-S and have an indie shop install them. Rotors don't need to be replaced each brake job (experience here is that they will last two sets of pads), but most shops like to do it all....

As I said before in the XK thread you can get R1 Concepts rotors and Porterfield R4-S pads which are better than the OEM ones and a lot cheaper, around $500 CDN for the lot.
You can also fit them yourself and save a packet, it's a relatively straightforward job if you are even mildly handy with the spanners.
The only "special" tool you will need is a 9 mm hex driver for the front caliper slide pins, plenty on Fleabay.

Could I get a link to the rotors and pads. Ill order them. No point in spending $1600 just for fronts. I found a indie shop that can do them relatively cheap.
Im going to take car into jag for oil issue i dont want that lead to a big problem. Ill take premium price hit on that.

Several sources for oil leaks.
#1 is the brake boost vacuum pump. Dealer will want a grand to drop all the oil, clean the effect area, replace the pump, change filter and add oil.
All you need is a new pump from FCP and a Husky very low torque wrench from Depot. Put the front of the car up on stands so the oil won’t drip out too much. Clean effect area and swap out pump. Watch torque specs on the two bolts.
#2 is the oil filter housing. If you’re using aftermarket oil filter kits you should look at the housing where the black cap screws down. Aftermarket gaskets don’t seal as well as legit JLR seals. Oil drips out all over the passenger side front of motor coating the alternator which can lead to early failure.
#3 is valve cover gaskets. I’m willing to accept a little seepage here because changing them out is not cheap.

With the undertray, I don't think you can tell if a leak is in the back or the front of the engine. It's going to just come out where the undertray lets it.

But on the same web page if you scroll down a ways you will see the correct pads for the 380 mm brakes, AP1750.
Oil level sensor is where the oil leak and one other spot. Ive attached the video. Thoughts.

Recommend to replace oil level sensor along with an oil change $1209.89+tax. and monitor the sipping from the rear main area. And recommend to replace front brake pads and rotors $2427.51+Tax. Please let me know how you would like to complete the repair. Thanks.

Have your independent do the oil sensor, have him check the brake boost vacuum pump and the oil change. I wouldn’t worry about a rear main seal yet. Oil sensor costs $100 from Harper Jaguar Parts.
Those front brake rotors look perfect. No reason to change them. Just pad slap them with Porterfield R4S pads.

That doesn't look like oil; it looks like water mixed with soot. At any point did you have your car parked backed in? F-TYPEs will drip condensation from the exhaust; mixed with the soot and it looks exactly like that.
