Does the EPB engage automatically on the F type when selecting P?

Not on My 2015 'R'. When I first got the car I thought it was automatic and always just set mode to P and the car jerked a little when shutting off the car. One of my buddies mentioned that I wasn't activating the parking brake prior to turning off the car. PB does turn off when you go into drive thankfully.

 

Mine is engaged as soon as I turn off the engine. (MT...no P)
