Default error on jaguarusa website?

F-Type base, key features ($62,700 automatic)
  • Jaguar Performance Braking System with Silver calipers
  • Sports suspension
  • Driver-selectable switchable active sport exhaust
  • 18" Vela alloy wheels
  • Sport-style seats with Leather and Suedecloth facings
  • 3-spoke leather steering wheel
  • Intelligent Stop/Start
  • Light Hex Aluminum console fnisher
  • Meridian™ Surround Sound System (770W)
  • SiriusXM® Satellite Radio & HD Radio™
  • Navigation
  • Jaguar InControl Apps™, InControl Remote™ and InControl Protect™

F-Type Premium

Key Features in addition to F-TYPE:
  • Jaguar Smart Key System™ with Keyless Entry and Keyless Start
  • Adaptive Front Lighting with Cornering Lamps
  • Intelligent High Beam
  • Sport-style 14-way seats, power adjustable, driver and passenger
  • 3-position seat, door mirror and steering column memory

Did jaguar make a mistake on their website, listing the active exhaust as part of the base model? From my understanding, you first have to get the Premium ($68,100) then add the $1600 active exhaust....

Thanks

According to the 2017MY F-Type Standard & Optional Equipment Guide that I have sitting in front of me right now, if you get a base with the manual transmission, you get the "Active Sport exhaust" and the "Driver-selectable Switchable Active Sport Exhaust" as standard equipment. If you get a base with the automatic transmission, you get the "Sport exhaust".

Interesting.. although the website shows the same info/specs for both manual and auto...

can any 2017 base manual owners confirm?

confirmed with the dealer.. 2017 base MANUAL comes standard with active exhaust... 2017 base AUTO not even an option to add it.. weird.

I have the std sport exhaust, and I enjoy loud exhausts. It's plenty loud all the time w/ no valves to close. The same pipes that have valves on the active system are open all the time on the std sport. I've compared them, and it is much louder than active with valves closed. Active w/ valves open does have a deeper bass note, but the decibel level isn't all that different.

My wife and many work colleagues all think it's too loud, and I get a lot of stares starting up in the underground garage at work.

Over the years I've been on this forum, most have erroneously concluded that the standard exhaust sounds like the active with valves closed, and that is most certainly not the case. Some w/ std sport exhaust complain they don't have the ability to make it quieter when they want it to be. Active does allow that.

Foosh: we have a base, is it just me, or does the Dynamic mode make it louder? It seems like it does.

I think it seems that way because of the more aggressive throttle mapping, and perhaps it produces a bit more snap, crackle, and pop. However, with the throttle all way to the floor, I don't think there's any decibel difference between modes.

Just for a bit of interest, there is very little difference on the Active/Switchable exhaust between loud and quiet modes under WOT higher rpm conditions. The valves will automatically open under those circumstances.

I would expect no difference. My understanding was that the switch position is irrelevant at near WOT and above because the valves automatically open.
