At the end of the day it's an individual choice, but the prevailing opinion on these things is that, on average, people don't get their money out of them. That's what I've read. You might, but the average person does not. Statistically. If that was not the case then there would be no business model existing for these products.

People can also derive a lot of annoyance if things do not get covered etc...Which happens...Paying all that money only to have to pay anyway...Salt in wounds ;-0

To each their own. If I got to the end of my factory warranty period I wouldn't necessarily completely rule out extending the factory one on it if there were options, or buying one of these products. It really depends at the time, my experience with the car, what my confidence level is in it, how long I think I might keep it, etc...So many variables...

I bought Red Shield from dealer, probably new name by now, and it was like being interrogated and recorded on the phone. Lots of gotcha questions! Sent an investigator to dealer to check out problems. Said isolator wasn't loud enough to fix and a door sensor problem was normal wear and tear. Did pay for water pump. This is insurance and they act like insurance. This was over 2 years.

Always going to be a personal choice and if the dollars make sense.

For us the cost. Term, and coverage didm also i worked in thr auto service biz for a long time so seen the good and the bad and what companies are pains and what are true and honest.

I get most will never use it too, these days I am a senior level in insurance so don't have to tell me about the biz model
