F/R Cameras Installed.....
I just had my new front and rear cameras installed on my '16 R. (It didn't have the Vision Pack). The guys did a very nice, clean job. Took an entire day. But the result was excellent. The rear camera activates when I shift into reverse. For the front, I just press the "Home" button for 3 seconds on the NAV console to activate it (and press it again to deactivate). It's nice that they didn't have to install any toggles switches for the front. The only negative is that the cameras doesn't show any grid lines but as long as I can see, that's fine.

Good question. I didn't ask the techs since it was very late when I picked it up yesterday and I had to leave right away. Since it was very labor intensive and took an entire day, I'm assuming that they had to tap into the console and get in there.
Looks like a nice clean installation. Pardon in advance for asking, but it would be interesting to know the cost of installing front and back cameras aftermarket vs. the cost of the "vision pack."
I paid $1,300 for the front & rear cameras and all the necessary parts and also including labor (which took a whole day). I'm not sure how much the Vision Packs costs on its own.

I don't know the vision pack cost either, but I think it's more, and it does includes parking sensors. On the other hand, you have the extra capability of the front camera. Sounds like a good deal if cameras are important to you.
What did they use to do the integration with the Home button? NAV-TV?
Also, when you're going at high speed on the highway, you can activate the front camera and it looks very cool from that perspective!

Agreed.
I've just encoded in my brain the visual image out the windshield for how far I can pull forward without hitting anything. It's a short car, so no reason to pull all the way forward in most parking spaces that are also occupied by F-350 long-beds and monster SUVs. ;-)

9 minutes in length, but exceptionally well detailed in what need to come apart, how, and what connects to where.
It's too bad Jag's don't offer LED headlights, esp. the F-Type. Pretty much all Mercs, BMW's, Audi's, Lexus, and Acura's have them now. LED's are much superior to Xenons.......brighter, last longer, and better color, too. (Jag's Xenons are too yellow).
If you get a free moment, would you be able to take a photo of the screen showing the front camera with your F Type parked about 6" from a kerb/wall so I could see if adding a front camera would assist with detecting width restrictors? I'm currently playing with a 360 camera installation but I'm not happy with the activation so I would much rather use a single camera with a nav-tv or similar module that is properly integrated.
