Ok don't ridicule me too much -- but anyone ever consider / compare the F-type 2.0 to the Veloster N.
Initially, I found the 2019 Veloster N's to be a bit juvenile (most of which came in that baby blue) --> however, in 2020 they just launched this new color (colour) in Canada called Shooting Star - which is a matte grey. Check it out.
When I look at the specs of the Veloster N -- and yes, I over value a MT vs. automatic -- the Veloster N seems like good value for the money and it's getting some great reviews too.
actually looking at an i30n fastback for the mrs atm
i was surprised how good a car it is, it's a far better car than the money suggests
as someone who has owned many M cars, to find out mr M has gone to work for hyundai, makes perfect sense after driving one
i jumped online and every review i can find is positive, there is not one negative bit of feedback at all
now getting to your post, i don't see this at all as an alternative to 2.0L f type - the veloster/i30 N is a hot hatch, it's to be cross shopped against civic type r, focus st, golf gti, principally because it's a fwd chassis of econo car origins - there are limitations to packaging that you just can't get around whereas f-type was built from ground up to be a rwd sports car
having said that, a veloster/i30 N will smash an f type on a race track or back road if you rank speed over feel
Sort of like comparing a Vegas showgirl (hot & fast) to Audrey Hepburn (glamorous beauty). Have to work harder for the latter, but we’ll worth the effort and will result in a longer relationship.
i'd probably go for the veloster, hyundai is also coming out with a car that will have supercar performance with pretty decent pricing, maybe buying this car will bump you in that list later on
