Exclamation F-Type 75 Pricing

Prices for the F-Type 75 models are only $2K above the price for the non 75 models. I was expecting more of a bump.

JLR is introducing 2024MY in January 2023??
Wonder if they will actually build any in calendar 2024?
Why would anyone order a 2023 build now?

Would be pretty normal to be ordering a 2024 car now since its pretty common for factories to switch over to the next's years model in June/July, with deliveries starting in September. Don't know what Jaguar's exact schedule is.

My MY18 was built in March 2017.

That is usually how it works for Jags/European manufacturers. Jaguar productions model change overs are usually early in the year January/February and end in the late December early January usually. So there might be some very late 2024 models built in January depending on when they decide to wrap up production. I’m guessing they will monitor parts inventories and orders so they don’t have a huge surplus left over as it’s the last year.

It's interesting that many features that were optional on my 2021 F Type R Coupe are now standard. I paid extra for the heated & cooled seats, Homelink, Blind Spot Assist, Surround Sound audio and heated steering wheel for example. And the standard headliner was Morzine rather than suedecloth. I didn't need the dual zone climate control which is now standard.

It looks like the new model has a Meridian Sound System but the upgraded Surround System is not available ? Maybe due to the chip shortages ? And the panoramic roof is now your only choice. I did not want it so saved the $1900 or whatever the cost was and applied it towards other options that I wanted.

Probably the worst thing is that there will likely be no discount for cash or special financing rate programs. A 2023 equivalent to what I have now would cost something like 10% more, and that is provided the dealers don't add an extra charge onto the window sticker.

Will be interesting to see how many F-Types are made in their year. After putting out about 7000 F-Types for Model Year 2021 it dropped to less than 2600 for the 2022 MY. Most likely due to large left over inventory caused by COVID and neutered sales. Production last year for 2023 went back up to approximately 4000. I’m assuming it will fall somewhere in the middle, around the 3000s.

One thing I find interesting/confusing is how many very low mileage 2023 cars are listed as "used" by dealers.

Are these worldwide production numbers? Do you have a breakdown by market? (North America, UK, etc.)

Yes, those are worldwide production numbers and nope I do not have a breakdown. The way I found these out is by looking at the first VIN number for each model year and the last and doing the math. Getting production numbers for each country would require looking at the build details of each VIN sequentially and would be an enormous undertaking.

Do you know what the usual allocation is between coupes and convertibles? Is it 70/30, 50/50, etc?

Also interesting on the 2024 builds:

-R-Dynamic is now RWD only (you have to get the 75 or the R for AWD)
-Very few colors on the R-Dynamic, few overall for the 75 and R as well
-Fewer interior color options on all models (no split color combos)
-All versions are black pack only (at no charge). No chrome badge/louver option.
-Fewer interior/exterior/accessory options

Probably trying to use up what they have a surplus of. Glad I ordered a '23 when I did.

Around a 35/65 split

Are you saying that 2/3 are convertibles?
It always seems like there are more coupes

No. Meant 35 percent convertibles 65% coupes.

You can still get chrome grill surround and side louver (it's still an alternative to the black pack) and you can get split interior colors - you just have to choose the sport seat option.

Questions: 1) When did they stop offering the sport/flat bottom steering wheel? 2) When did they stop having models with the ignis orange start & paddle shifters?

In previous model years, the no charge option was chrome grille surrounds and side louvers, and the optional packages were either the black pack (~$900) or the exterior design pack (~$2500) which gave you body color front, rear, and side sills, or both. Now, the black pack is the no charge option and the only way to get the chrome is to get the exterior design pack ($1100) which still gives you body color sills but restores the chrome. Although that pack is cheaper than in previous years, basically you have to now pay for chrome.

As for the interior, if you choose the Performance Seats there is only one split interior color option (Ebony/Light Oyster). They no longer offer the tan or red in ebony/tan or ebony/red split (where the passenger dash is ebony to cut down on windshield reflections). Both tan and red offer same color dash and brace bar.

I have the black brakes and chrome....so it went from dull and boring (red / black were more respectively) to now more and more. Fashion.......

The chrome looks super to my eye....so does the black.....but they all look good no matter what you do. Sort of a non-issue.

On the brakes....after a few years none look amazing so the black is sort of more pragmatic....happy I have black calipers.

The details for the Meridian Sound System for the 2024s says:

Dynamic Volume Control
380 watts
10 speakers including subwoofer
10 channel class D DSP amplifier

I assume that means it's not the same as the Meridian *Surround* Sound System from previous years? If so, that's a bit disappointing. I drove a 2023 F-Type today with the base Meridian sound system and thought it was terrible.

I emailed my local jaguar dealer today and they sent me the product sheet. The default is the Meridian Sound System and the surround sound is $1,050 CAD extra on all models. I have the Canadian product sheet, not sure if it will vary in other countries.
