F Type GPS
My wife just picked up her 2nd 2021 F Type (the first was totaled with 1600 miles). I don't ride in the car often for two reasons: A. I absolutely abhor her driving, and B. I find the cabin to be a bit cramped for me. She tells me she tried to use the GPS in the car, and it told her that it needs internet access, and you have to log in.
I got the owners manual out, and tried to figure out how to make it work, but I couldn't. I'm in Texas and we bought the car in Long Island, NY, and I'm disappointed that they didn't explain it to her, but she says it never came up. She said it never came up on the first one she bought here in Texas.
Any thoughts on how I can learn how to get through the GPS.
Thanks in advance!

The dealer should have activated all the necessary subscriptions, assuming she bought from a dealer. If she's trying to use the online navigation extras, she'll need a user data SIM which, depending on the market, may have been included with the car (AT&T?). I have a user SIM but I've never logged in to use it - it just works. That's in an MY18 car, yours may be different.
She purchased it at Jaguar of Southhampton. We thought they did a great job explaining everything to her. According to the iPhone app and it tells me that I am connected to "Navigation Pro" for 5 more years, "Remote" for 5 more years and "online pack". Is there something we have to sign into in the car?
I'll call the dealer in the morning, but thought I'd try here in the interim.
Thanks!

Don't know about the 2021 version, but on my 2016 XF I never bothered to connect it to the online account. When I went to the nav screen, it told me I should do so but if you don't you can still use it with no problem. I did hook up everything on the 2018 F-Type I just got. Wasn't simple, its about as non-intuitive as it gets. Took a combined effort of myself and a person on the Jaguar support line about 20 minutes to figure out how to do it, Hopefully on the 2021 version its been improved. Definitely call Jaguar support, they will try to step you through it, but just be aware that's its confusing for them too.
There has been a few discussions about this subject. An AT&T SIM card is usually installed by the dealer, it comes attached to what looks like a credit card. The Navigation function works fine or at least should in your new 2021. I'm happy with mine although it would be nice if it had a voice recognition feature to verbally call out a location. You have to be connected through your phone and Apply Car Play or Android Auto for that to work and that means a cord and not through Bluetooth.
However, to get expanded Navigation features, your car needs to connect to the internet. You have to make a choice in the Settings menu for that. And then, in order to get the expanded features like a satellite image for the map, real time traffic updates and probably a few other things you have to pay AT&T anywhere from $15 a month on up depending upon how much data you use. I have never been able to get my car to connect no matter what I have tried or where I am driving so I gave up.
