After a few months of frustration by inability to custom order a new F Type R or long wait times due to the infamous chip shortage, I finally found what I wanted at a dealership out of state after checking the nationwide inventory for several weeks.
Was on the showroom floor. Here it is awaiting the enclosed transport scheduled to pick up tomorrow. Its scheduled to be delivered to my house this Sunday!
2021 F Type R, cold weather package, black design package, interior black package, glass roof, faux suede headliner and visors, black leather with oyster stitching, park assist, blind spot, dual climate, Nav, etc. etc.
Gonna be like a 45 year old kid on Xmas morning! Lol
GORGEOUS!! That's fantastic! Sunday!! I assume you will get ZERO sleep between now and then. So excited for you. What a beauty! CHeers! Can't wait to hear the details of delivery and first impressions.
Awesome!! Love the yellow!
Just out of curiosity, who are you using for transport? I'll be interested to see your impressions of the shipping company.
Allied Auto Transport who were recommended by Hedrick dealerships. They use them for the Jags and Porsches they sell.
Nervous to say the least. They sent me tons of pictures and videos but I'm placing a ton of trust that the car is flawless. I hope I dont find dings or scratches when it shows up. Big gamble for sure.
The dealership has been awesome so far. They apparently do this all the time. They have a buy online and ship anywhere program. We shall see.
Wow, surprised by all the positive comments on the Yellow! Thanks!! I never thought I would have a yellow car. I've always played it safe with the common colors. In fact this is the first "loud" color I've ever had. Most of my latest cars have been white with black including my current daily driver Truck. Was time for a change, haha.
Should be interesting since these cars are pretty rare and already garner tons of attention, let alone bright yellow... no more flying under the radar, gonna have to watch the right foot a bit. Lol
You will be surprised how yellow will attract certain bugs when parked. I had a Race Yellow Viper. Once I returned from shopping and had about 100 little green bugs crawling on it. They must have thought it was a flower. Removed them by exercising the V10 on the backroads just outside of town. Too much fun. LOL

Ugh... I totally feel your pain! I would be a nervous wreck as well. I'm sure all will be fine though! Can't wait to get your thoughts and opinions on your new R!
There is a lot to be said for applying the old "a bird in the hand" or in this case a cat in the hand philosophy and grabbing a car that you like instead of waiting with the uncertainty that we are now presented with.
That's a nice car and it sounds like you have a good dealer to work with. That is certainly worth a lot during the rather stressful buying process too.
I had my F-Type delivered from N. Carolina to Massachusetts in February, so apart from other concerns, there was always the risk of snow.
The delivery was uneventful and fast. The driver had only 2 vehicles in a closed trailer - make sure yours travels inside a carrier.
Far from dings etc caused by the carrier, he actually inspected the car before leaving and identified 3 very minor paint blems and a minor scratch.
Theses were identifed and photographed and reported to the dealer before leaving their location.
The dealer paid for paint correction on arrival.
To be honest they were so small as to have been missed easily by the dealer or even by me, the new owner.
I guess the delivery driver knew his business and did not want to be held repsonsible for issue he did not cause.
All the best for a good delivery. Your car looks fantastic.

oh yeah, I had the option for open or enclosed. I paid for enclosed.
Ah OK, I had missed that detail. Funny how Alcantara has taken over like the plague. I added it to my build for a bit of sound deadening.
I've had it several other cars. Doesnt really add anything other than appearance. It's just cloth and looks fancier than morzine or othe basic fabrics. Works great on upholstery though because it is gripper and more supple than leather.

I am very familiar with Alcantara. Not really a fan, especially on dashes, steering wheels and shift knobs. But they're OK on seats.
It also makes me wonder, since they say "suede like" if it's not even actually Alcantara, which is actually a brand, but instead a generic material. 😒
