oh yeah, I had the option for open or enclosed. I paid for enclosed.
I actually chose open on my most recent delivery; although I knew the transporter who had a small wall on the front of the trailer and it was only a couple hundred miles. Plus, unloading and loading poses more of a threat than the actual transport. I worked in the car business for a while and we used open and closed for various transports; loading and unloading in a closed trailer has challenges and risks. I have seen several below average incidents with car delivery - that said, I have seen far more successful deliveries. Best of luck with the new ride.
I am very familiar with Alcantara. Not really a fan, especially on dashes, steering wheels and shift knobs. But they're OK on seats.
It also makes me wonder, since they say "suede like" if it's not even actually Alcantara, which is actually a brand, but instead a generic material. 😒
definitely JLRs own. Not the Alcantara brand or they'd use it. Looks good on a headliner. I had it on the seats, headliner, and steering wheel of my Camaro SS 1LE. I liked it alot especially on the steering wheel.

Guess I figured right, then. Had Alcantara headliner on my 991 GTS. It was a nice touch. Alcantara seats on our '18 Scatpack Charger. Most comfortable sofas I've ever sat in! Hahaha!
If I get an Emira allocation, I may spec the steering wheel with Alcantara only because I can get a red center marker to match the start button 😳
We share your excitement. It will be interesting if sales figures are ever made public for the 2021 and 2022 F Types. I get a feeling that production has been or will be quite limited, mainly due to the pandemic and supply chain issues. Will that mean they will become quite collectible in the future ? Maybe. I'll bet that they sure will be in demand as drivers. There sure aren't many cars in the sub- $125k range (new MSRP) that look as great nor offer the kind of performance and exclusivity that a V8 powered F Type does.

Could very well be. Especially if '22 ends up being the last year for the F-type. Auto makers are jumping into the electric game feet first and I'm really saddened by it.

Who knows? Maybe especially considering it's the last of the Jag V8s. They're going all electric.
However, that is not the reason I bought it. I'm going to drive the hell out of it and not worry about putting miles on it.
Collectability is never a good reason to buy a new car unless it already is a collector car. I knew going in that the F type has a horrible depreciation, but who knows, maybe it wont depreciate as bad if it becomes sort of a collector item.
On the topic of the suede roof lining, I opted for that in my P450 and although it was probably the only 'extravagance' (aside from the car purchase itself!), there's no way I would be without it. Aside from looking stunning, there's something incredibly tactile about it and that's something you can't really put a price on. Hope it puts as big a smile on your face as mine does every time I step into it
Well, the driver was 5 hours late, but it made it. Unfortunately the black air dam was scraped up. It happened prior to loading. Sales guy ordered me a new one. The car is covered in bad swirls. I spent the past 5 hours trying to buff them out. Not really working. It looks like they washed it with a wire brush. Its heading for paint correction in two weeks.
Its gorgeous in person but the scratches and swirls really ruined the experience. I knew the risk but had my fingers crossed. My camaro SS 1LE was the same way. Non metallic paint swirls easy.
Its quieter than I expected. I was also surprised by the 2000 mile break in period. What!? Lol I am also not impressed with the paint quality. Couple fish eyes, some dirt under the clear coat and etc. I've seen the same issues with other JLRs though.
It's fantastic. I'll love it once I get it up to my flawless standards.

Well, she looks beautiful but I get how swirls and damage would take some of the wind out of your sails initially. It's too bad they don't teach those lot boys how to properly wash a car! It's not that hard!
I had no idea JLR paint quality wasn't good. Bummer! Tells me I'll need to inspect mine well!
2000 mile break-in seems excessive, but now that I think about it, I do seem remember a member saying his exhaust got louder after 2000 miles. Hhhmmm...
Well, keep reporting back in how you like it!! Really do love that yellow! Congrats!
Sorry to hear about some of the issues you are dealing with and shame on the dealership that you bought it from. Just curious, if you live in Maryland and your car was located somewhere in North Carolina why didn't you just check it out in parson and drive if home yourself? Everything will eventually work out for you and I feel your frustration because when you take delivery of a new $120K upscale vehicle it should be close to perfect. That yellow exterior will be an attention getter!
I would assume the dealer will pay for both the paint correction and refitting the replacement air dam.
As previous, be sure to very carefully check your windows for vertical scratch marks.
Also, FYI, my car actually burned a small amount of oil during break-in - just a pint, and nothing since.

Reason: typo
Congratulations! I know how important initial impressions are but don't let a little bad lipstick spoil the love affair. Easy to get it fixed. Frankly, I find the paint (Glacier White) on my 16 R Coupe to be spectacular...as good an OEM finish as I've seen on a non-exotic.

honestly, I should have. I had tons of close up detailed pics from the sales guy. However, I think it was fine until they detailed it the day before it boarded the transport. That's when they scraped the front and introduced the swirls because all the pics were date and time stamped prior to the detail.
Sales guy is good. He already ordered my front air dam and gave me a voucher to pay for the paint correction.
I'm also a perfectionist, so I notice stuff most people dont.
