My New R, Awaiting Transporter
You might want to consider getting the clear bra and paint protection at the same time.
You might get a better deal plus best to do it while new.
I just got back from a 2,250 mile road trip and found 3 stone chips on the front of mine.
Closer examintaion showed that the XPEL was damaged but it had protected the underlying paint.
A little work with some very fine clippers (belonging to my wife!!) and the XPEL damage is almost not noticeable, either.

Sorry to hear about the paint. I explicitly told my dealer to remove any protective paper or whatever they cover the car in during transport and hand wash if necessary, but not to touch it with a buffer or apply any kind of wax or other coatings.
When I got it home I did a hand wash with Dawn dishwashing soap and did the "baggie test". I was kind of surprised to feel some rough spots so I did a clay bar treatment which removed some visible foreign matter from the paint. I then applied two coats of Turtle Wax Pro To The Max Graphene wax.
Yep the recommended break in period does seem a little long. A 4500 RPM max until 3000 miles is hard to resist exceeding. I only have 1200 miles on my car so far as it has been a very hot and dusty summer and the car has been garaged most of the time. But I plan on taking a lot of day trips to put a few hundred miles at a time on it now that fall is approaching and it will be ideal weather for some Sou Cal cruising and mountain jaunts.
