I've always wondered if it's possible to get/purchase those mentioned "beefed up parts" and add the parts to our car to bring the car up to current specs and improve the handling with the new improved suspension parts.

That's really not possible to answer in the generic sense. Some parts need additional parts to support them and in come cases the mounting points have even changed. When I had a Saab shop we'd sometimes see what were called "multiple supersessions." This was when a part was updated, usually for reliability reasons, but extra parts were needed to fit it. Take the "lightweight rear knuckles and larger wheel bearings" also noted. It might be possible to replace the knuckle assembly with the updated unit, but not necessarily. There may be a difference in how it bolts to the a-arms, which would mean replacing those too. It the mounting points for those were also changed, it could be that the new parts simply can't be mounted.

Other things, like updated coolant pipes, might be a straight replacement.

Then, there's the availability problem. An example is the Project 7 grille. I suspect they manufactured enough to cover replacements for all P7s sold with some buffer build in. They were to be sold only to P7 owners but others ordered them with P7 VINs, but now there are none left and I doubt they'll tool up to produce more.
