Not familiar with them so I looked over their offerings. Their exhaust system is 116db?!?!? Woof.

Back to the intercooler ... I recall references to intake air temperatures in one of the tuning threads but don't remember if anyone did any logging specifically aimed at measuring the IC effectiveness. Is the intercooler the limiting factor, or is it the intercooler's cooling system? Or neither? It's mostly academic interest to me, as I've got a V6, but I am interested.

On the V6, the intake air temp never got more than 10-15 degrees above ambient on a series of hard dyno runs. This is one of the most efficient intercoolers that my tuner or I have ever seen. Spend your money on something else that will have far more impact (LT headers).

Amazing how much "snake oil" is available for sale in the aftermarket.

The intercooler radiator and electric pump on the F-Type are the exact same parts used on earlier models, like the XF, S-Type, X350 XJR, etc...

On the 4.2L engines running the M112 supercharger, the cooling system was adequate at best, but you have to remember that the M-series blowers generated a lot of heat. The TVS on the 5.0L (and 3.0L) doesn't generate anywhere near the heat.

A larger intercooler radiator "heat exchanger" was a popular mod on the old XKR, because there was plenty of room in the nose of the car to fit a bigger one, this wasn't the case on the other models though.

And the pump was/is often upgraded to a larger capacity unit, often because the stock pump was failing, or to try and get better cooling.

Now with the F-Type, again i think it's one of those things where the V6 seems better off because it's got all the ancillaries from the V8 on it, so they are kind of over-engineered in that sense.

Can the intercooler system on the V8 be improved? Possibly.

Is it necessary? Unless you are running outrageous boost or are located in a very hot climate, perhaps not.

But just for the sake of sharing information, here is an intercooler pump upgrade done on an XFR, will be more or less the same on the F-Type https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...pgrade-152574/

Same thing on the dyno with my R. The dyno shop was hot and I was logging IAT on all of the runs. Temps were amazingly low considering.

The exhaust they offer for the F-Type is the Capristo.
